Andre Drummond - LeBron's Robin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The way he is playing this year, at least in stats... he will get paid, unless there is a major drop off. Right now the league sees him as the star on the Cavs roster.

Shocker that an NBA team wants to sign player for below market value.

Drummond will be an interesting story to follow.

Sign and trade makes sense. I wouldn’t discount him sticking around either. I don’t think teams are going to offer him stupid money and I’m not sure Drummond is the type of dude who will just take the highest offer.

If he truly likes playing here and enjoys playing with our younger guys, it’s not impossible to see it.

Drummond has made somewhere around 135 million in his career. It would not be insane for him to consider other factors at this point if the numbers are close enough.

Drummond feels to me like the guy who would absolutely take the highest offer.. but he is a 14/14 guy for 2-3 more seasons. I wish the NBA rules committee would legislate the bigman back into existence. The game has gotten way too perimeter oriented, and legit skilled big guys are the causality. (Greg Buckner would have made Vin Baker money adjusted for inflation had he entered the NBA in the 90's)

I think a huge consideration for Drummond is the desire to be wanted and appreciated. Emotionally, he's like a big kid. He will go to a team that sincerely wants him.

He’s looking for the “quan.”

The way the game has turned into largely a game of either horse, or one on one iso has really reduced my enjoyment of the game. Interior play - which used to be half the game - basically has withered away.

Trending to the video generation, the NBA is doing their best to bring a virtual reality
version of basketball onto the physical court game.

Lots of scoring accompanied by showboating over the feat, unrelenting off court amped up 'sound'? and lighting
effects.

The rules initiated in recent years have handicapped the level of defense allowed even one generation
of players ago.

In those bygone days, a big like Drummond could reign over the painted area and make those
venturing to the rim really earn it.

The current NBA is getting like flag football.

Not to go too far down a hoops-rabbit hole, but the Sprawlball book has some great ideas on how to fix the NBA in the age of analytics. Like changing the 3 point line every year so the shot equals as much any other shot on the floor per attempt, or shrinking the key to make the post more potent again..

It's funny because I thought that the game had really found itself with the last Spurs title, and then the Warriors rise, where movement, passing, cutting, re-setting off the pass, etc was championed, but the drive for efficient numbers have devolved much of the game into that 1-4 offense.

Being a fan of 90's hoops, I can appreciate a great mid-range game, but it is the next victim on the analytics hunt for efficient shots.

The rules have been trending to help the perimeter player and hurt the post player for years and year. It wasn't overnight. Imagine if Andre Drummond (or really any decently sized/skilled big) could park in a key built like this?

And the fact that the 3 was created as a gimmick to give the little guy a chance.. and then was basically NEVER altered despite the fact that everyone in the league can shoot it now to some degree (or at least attempt it).. I hope they address it some day.

I like the European rule where once it hits the rim, you can goal tend. That would be really exciting

Drummond pulled for Allen to close the game. Drummond sitting (looks like sulking) on the bench as others look hype for a good game...

Imagine going from 20-15 to being benched because you play losing basketball.

I’m sure he was sulking on the bench because he got pulled.
