Anyone else play JRPGs?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just bought and downloaded Dark Deity on the Switch... Feels like a cheap Fire Emblem so if you like Fire Emblem that's one to look at... It's in sell right now

@J_J I got through all the individual chapters and stories; now close to beating the game proper. Thanks again to you and the others for bringing the game up here so I could hear about it and play it! It's totally been my kind of JRPG. They have a good mixture of characters, some with really good and intense stories like Castti's, and others with more fun and light-hearted ones like Partitio's. I also like how they're weaving it all together here at the end.

I’m glad you had a great one.

I enjoyed the last boss with Hikari the most. Having the best secret job with over 99999 damage helped me on that one.

Story wise I liked Temenos, Partitio (light hearted story because many others were depressing!), Osvald (I always love revenge stories), Hikari, and Castii. As you mentioned chapter 3 of Castii was a surprise. Throne was really good but I didn’t like the final chapter that much.

What ended up being your favorite boss? Favorite story? Favorite character?

Music was top notch again but I believe the first one had some memorable ones more. I like the daughter of the god soundtrack in the first one.

I’ll just say I enjoyed the final boss. I still have to beat the secret boss but I got into TOTK and that’s been a blast for me.

The Hikari boss was definitely the hardest of the 8 final character bosses for me; I actually had to go to GameFAQs for advice lol. But I finally got through it.

And yeah Partitio was definitely a welcome break for me when I got to his story -- I'd just been doing Osvald's and Throne's and it was getting really dark lol.

My favorite boss was the Partitio final boss because it was very creative; he definitely had some of the most interesting bosses in his stories. Castti definitely had my favorite overall story, and I liked her character a lot as well, although I also like the fun-ness of Partitio and Ochette.

For music, my favorites were the atmospheric night theme of Ku and the jazzy morning theme of New Delsta/Clockbank. I also like the quirky Cait theme. I thought the music was very good but Nobuo Uematsu will always be my favorite RPG music composer; part of what made Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger so great was the amazing music in those games (I know he did only part of the CT music, but he did all of the FF VI music, so I know it's his style that I like the most).

I hope I can get the final boss done. I may or may not do the secret boss; I've read it's obviously very hard, but since it's technically "optional" for the game, I'll have to think about how much effort I want to put into it lol. I'm the kind of player who tends to just finish the main parts of the game and not do a whole lot of the additional content.

WOO HOO I BEAT IT!

The ending was AWESOME.

I will say now that this is unequivocally my favorite RPG ever. A 110 hour RPG for adult thinkers.

I'm not gonna do that optional mega boss though, lol. The real boss was more than enough, took lots of pre-prep, the fight itself took about an hour, and I BARELY won at the end.

It was exhausting...but definitely worth it.

I'm 60 hours in to Persona 5. Good time. One goal is to max my confidants and social stats before the game ends. No idea if that is even possible.

It's pretty much impossible in the first play through... Do you Persona 5 or Persona 5 Royal? There is multiple endings for the game btw

Got Royal when it was on sale. Well that's good to know. Any particular confidants you think are more of a priority? My bro told me to focus on the young investigator (the Judge persona I think?). I've already maxed out the politician and nearly maxed out on the doctor.

To get the true ending you gotta max the detective and after those two you are doing focus on the gymnast as well... You need the detective, doctor and the gymnastic to get the true ending if I remember everything correctly. The doctor and detective do have a time limit...

True ending is worth doing. I did it on my first playthrough. To get the extended version you need to max the gymnast in postgame. I think doc needs level 8 and gymnast is like level 5.

Persona 5 is an amazing game.

For Persona fans, there’s going to be a new spinoff Persona 5 coming out.

Oh gosh, they already have a spinoff lol I don't care as long as it's good! Lol

Persona 5 Tactica (basically like tactics)

I’m more excited to Persona 3 Reload

So another spinoff with Persona 5 Where they essentially end up in another world/dimension and have to help overcome the tyrant ruling? That's what it feels like to me. It's probably a pretty good game at the end of the day. I wonder if you get bonus stuff for having Persona 5 Royal save and whatnot?

If that remaster of Persona 3 adds extended dialogs and whatnot, that would be so worth playing!
