Well reports are coming in that Artest could be quite available and Cleveland is his number 1 destination. Hes got his former coach with Mike Brown here and a bronnie kid. Here is probably what it would take to get him.

Larry Hughes
6-5 SG from St. Louis
17.6 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 4.0 apg in 38.3 minutes
Anderson Varejao
6-10 from Brazil (Foreign)
No games yet played in 2005/06
Incoming
Ron Artest
6-7 SF from St. John's
19.4 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 2.2 apg in 37.8 minutes
Anthony Johnson
6-3 PG from Charleston
4.0 ppg, 0.9 rpg, 2.6 apg in 17.1 minutes
David Harrison
7-0 C from Colorado
2.9 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 0.1 apg in 9.9 minutes
Change in team outlook: +8.7 ppg, +4.0 rpg, and +0.9 apg.

Successful Scenario
Due to Cleveland and Indiana being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Cleveland and Indiana had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Hughes cant be traded for another month or so, either way, they arent going to get that high of a return on Artest..

I would look to package some young guns for the Pacers, something like Newble, Luke and AV for Artest.

Id love to get Artest here, that would be a perfect back court. Larry could run the one, and Bron and Artest could do matchups.

Could be something very special, but I doubt we have what it takes to do this kind of deal.

FYI, my trade idea did work salary wise.

ID for it is...... 2693101

i was thinking about this and it would be to good to be true.

do you guys think that a cleveland team would land a deal like this. i dont think so.

Hughes cant be traded untill the 15th of december its already the 9th....

why would indy trade artest is what i dont quite get

I would trade Hughes for Artest in a second

Whoa...before we all go crazy and start putting Artest in a Cavalier uniform. Where are these reports coming from? Links?

realgm has the Pacers and Kings talking Peja for him again.

It was on ESPN. They were talking about several destinations since artest is upset and says he isnt getting enough touches. One trade would be peja for artest but they said artest would want to come to cleveland first.

Id do artest for hughes in a second too. Artest could be lebrons pippen that he needs. I will have many wet dreams about artest in a cavs uniform tonight.

Also Larry has expressed a lot of interest in luke in the past if everyone remembers. He would probably be involved in the trade.

not going to happen

lot of other teams would also love to have artest, and willing to give up much more than "newble luke varejao"

Ferry would never....never....never....bring Ron Artest onto this team. Mike Brown isn't the biggest fan of him either if I recall.

Why wouldnt he bring him in? It would help the team.

On ESPN they did say Cleveland was one of the places where Artest would like to go if traded.

I like Artests's game but the offcourt and other stuff that comes with him I'm not crazy about.
But, looking at this Cavs team they need the toughness and attitude that Artest brings. His game would be a great help to this Cavs team.
It does seem that Artest is available. I like Hughes but would trade him for Artest. Artest is a better shooter and would bring the toughness the Cavs badly need.

It's doubtful a trade would be worked with Indiana. Can't see them trading Artest to a division rival.
