Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Wild to me that Carolina plans to start this guy this year, but won’t pay him more than $5 million.

Good on Baker to eat the rest, but wild he’s giving up nearly as much as Carolina is even willing to pay him.

Let’s hope this conditional pick can rise as high as a 3rd if he starts 10+ games.

Edit: Looks like conditional 4th. Damn, I guess we get the $8 million in cap savings, but not much of a pick for eating $10.5 million.

Wish him the best of luck, thanks for the awesome run in 2020. I'm sure he will kick our ass week 1 and then fall back to average the rest of the season.

It was nice he even decided to give $3 mil back.

Still happy we made a trade for an elite guy, hopefully the suspension is minimal.

Many have applied the phrase "confident enough to bet on himself" to Baker Mayfield.
Now the statement is literally true! He just bet $3.5M dollars on himself! I wish him luck (except against the Browns).

I am very curious to learn what "conditional 5th rounder" means. Conditional as in it could get better? Or conditional in that a 5th is as good as it gets? I'm assuming the latter given the way these type of trades have been worded in the past.

I guess it can get to a 4th.

Could be a 4th based of playing time.
