Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In Ben Roethlisbergers 3rd year he threw 18 TDs and 23 INTs. And that's on a team that didnt throw much. Aaron Rodgers didnt even start till like year 4.

Like...expecting Baker to be a franchise QB this soon is.. Just not fair. Expecting him to overcome coaching is damn near impossible. Lamar Jackson and Mahomes have future HOF coaches. Coaches that have proven themselves with QB after QB.

Baker Mayfield started with...Hue Jackson. A coach who has proven himself an absolute failure over and over. And now...Freddie Kitchens.

Baker looks like a traveling shower ring salesman.

Y'all need to take a step back and think about why your expectations for a 2nd year QB are so high when he's had 3 head coaches in 24 games.

Maybe the expectations are ridiculously unfair and mainly because Patrick Mahomes did what he did last year. That's the exception. Not the rule.

Neither Josh Allen nor Sam Darnold are ripping it up out there in year 2.

People gotta show patience.

The fact that the fans were expecting to contend this year is the fault of the general manager and no one else.

Even beyond Mahomes, a lot of people were expecting the world from Baker because Wilson/Brady/Pig Pen were able to do even better than Mahomes in their year 2's, in the sense that they won Super Bowls.

Of course, every one of those last 3 had pretty exceptional circumstances those years.

I get it. Baker's appearance gives the impression that he was coming off a week-long bender with Billy Manziel under a dirty bridge. But... I find no humor in watching this Browns team circling the drain.

Yea, like Pittsburgh and Seattle having top 3 defenses and carrying the offense the entire year.

People putting way too much responsibility on 2nd year Quarterback. If he's gotta be the star of the team, then the team isn't ready to win.
