Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I see it as a playmaker, shot-taker sort of thing. Whereas a PG executes the play as designed, a SG sort of just does his own thing.

Look at Rodgers, and how much he has improved in the past few years once he started being more PG--executing an on-time offense and getting the ball out to good options rather than holding it and waiting for the perfect, big play to come.

For QB's who played like SG's and sucked shit, Wentz last year immediately comes to mind.

Wentz is a great example, but this analogy has jumped the shark, lol

Ryan Fitzpatrick is the stretch 4 that takes too many jumpers. Some nights they all go in, but most nights they’re all bricks.

Roethlisberger is the veteran center that had a solid career but lost all of his basketball ability and is now overweight. He is only on the roster because some team gave him a stupidly bad contract when he was still relevant.

Roethlisberger is Kevin Love being invited to the Olympic Team.

Tom Brady is Larry Bird.
Cam Newton has become Tyrone Hill.
Teddy Bridgewater is Chris Mills.

i am terrible at this.

It’s interesting to read about how Mayfield is fairing in situational practicing. This is the best secondary talent against which he’s played/practiced on a consistent basis.

The bar for Mayfield has been set

I think Josh Allen is regarded as better than Baker right now, so i expect Baker to get close but less. Personally I like Baker better, but looks like 6/240 to me with 140 guaranteed.

If it was up to me, you offer more guaranteed for less money because the last 20 years proved if Baker doesnt work the team is fucked, so more cap flexibility is more important than worrying about what happens if Baker doesnt work. We are fucked cap wise and on field wise, finding a QB is tough.

So if all parties would take it 6 years for 225 Mil and 165 Mil guaranteed. Maybe I am dreaming at 37.5, but that is a good deal for everyone in my opinion.

Go for 210 over 6 fully guaranteed for Baker and see if he bites on the “keep this going as long as possible” line of thinking.

A team that has had a much bad QB play over the last 20 years should not be worried about whether Baker ends upin the top echelon of QBs.

Do you really want the Wife of a qb's signature? Get a life people and leave Emily Baker alone.
I knew an Emily Baker growing up.

Her jugs were nowhere near as nice as the ones prominently featured in that post.
