Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just so we are clear, a big majority of the fan base will eat that shit up with a huge smile on their face.

That's what he's doing, if people are confused.

Baker will play just well enough in 2022 that the Browns keep him and the debate will go on …

and on …

and on …

Nice of Baker to chime in with his bullshit after we all just finished watching elite QB play.

There’s that type of play, and then there’s Baker on his same old social media bullshit. Get this loser out of here.

Preach

Those two guys tonight just have physical tools that allow them to do things that Baker will never be able to do. That’s not saying that a healthy Baker with improved mechanics can’t win games in this league and maybe even win big games if he has enough defense and running game to support him. But the idea that Baker is ever going to approach the ceiling of the elite QBs in the league should be put to rest.

If we can’t find an improvement, you have to hope Baker can ascend to the 10-15 range and the rest of the roster is talented enough to overcome the QB gap against other contenders.

Or how about if he just played better and won the game without needing that call ? Chad Henne was the QB on the other side for goodness sakes…

I see a serviceable QB. I don’t see an elite one… Definitely not a Super Bowl QB

Play better? In that KC game? Mayfield was excellent that game. In 2020, Mayfield completed a team record with 22 consecutive completions on the road in Cincinati. Mayfield and company annihilated a good Tennessee team on the road. And in prime time, he destroyed the Ravens, who ranked second defensively that year. The Browns scored 42 points that night in a losing effort. The man played with a torn labrum.among other injuries. He will be back next season to atone for his shit season.

Baker is going into year 5, at 27 years of age, and he still hasn’t established himself as anything more than an inconsistent QB, who can occasionally flash. How you can continue to ride with a guy like that is beyond me? It’s certainly not something a smart franchise would do.
Well you must think the Browns brass isn't very smart then. They've made it pretty clear he'll be back next season.

Yeah play better. Baker will never get a seat at the elite table.
