Bengals @ Browns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He was their backup

Didn't get many carries (I learned the hard way, Fantasy team :thumbdown )

With the state of our defense, yes, we need a premeir back to help keep this D off the field.

Just about every single player on the front 7 needs replaced, that will take years. If we have a really good back, it will negate how bad our D is for periods at atime with ball contro.

Ummmm, if about every person on our front 7 needs replaced (which I agree with) then why not replace them first, rather than the RB who is adequate? Droughns rushed for 1000 yards. Sure, he had a great system, but that just means he's adequate instead of good like most 1000 yard rushers.

The front 7 is inadequate. That needs to be priority one.

You honestly think you can replace an entire front 7 in one year?

Even with all of our cap space, you are not going to get 7 new players....not going to happen.

It will take two, three years to get that front 7 where it needs to be.

I didn't say that. I said the front seven should be our top priority. We have adequate players at RB. We don't on the front 7.

The best way to fix the defense will be to fix the defense, not fix the offense.

True...but unless we wanna be sitting with a losing record year in and year out til its fixed, we might as well try to help the D by getting a RB that will keep the D off the field.

The reason antoine smith was adequate in new england was because they had such a offensive line...we need a star back, elite, top 10 back to tide us over until our line gets better. Then when the line is up we have a 24 25 year old running back getting ready to enter his prime with a nice line.

The browns don't need this. Sure, it would be nice to have, but as NE showed (as well as many, many others), you don't need a top back to be successful. You do need, however, a stout defense.

This team's not going to be fixed in a year anyway. Let's focus on what we really need, not what would be nice to have. If a top back falls into our hands, then great, but I wouldn't make this anything close to a focal point.

Thats why NE went out and got a star back then right?

Yeah, cause everyone knows NE's defense totally sucked when they picked up Dillon.

When we have a defense like NE's I'll have no problem targeting an all pro RB to carry the rock.

NE has a system defense...and it works. Romeo still needs real players to get that D to work here, but having a stud back would take a ton of pressure off that defense.

They already have one BIAAAAATCH :chuckles:
