Didn't realize Married with Children was that popular. Just an annoying show to me. Just like Rosanne. Not disgraceful shows but not top quality.

That 70s Show, Friends, Big Bang Theory are all in a tier right below the best. Still quality shows. Rely on very similar jokes over and over.

Everybody Loves Raymond is among the best. Unlike other greats like The Office and Seinfeld, almost everything that happens on Raymond includes simple and realistic situations and they make you laugh by doing more than just making characters do really stupid things. These few shows are among my favorites. They don't rely too heavily on dirty jokes either.

"It's Always Sunny" and "How I Met Your Mother" are the two I rewatch the most. Cartoons are in a seperate category for me.

I loved "Louie" for one that no one's said yet. Made it hard to go back to hearing a laugh track on sitcoms after watching it.

"Jewish name ain't supposed to have 'ham' in it."

That whole clip is great. Perfect example of everything that made that show so wonderful. Really tough to be both edgy and heartfelt.

Both Carroll O'Connor and Jean Stapleton were beyond perfect in those roles.

That was 41 years ago.
There is good stuff on TV nowadays but you hit the nail on the head...AITF was both super edgy and heartfelt. You can't do that with gratuitous sex, violence and swear words. It takes a bold concept, great writing and great acting.

Just finished watching The Norm Show as an underrated option.

Louis is great and it basically created the style of comedies that I think are the best of the crop in the last couple year. Maron, I'm Sorry, the Jim Gaffigan show, Better Things, and Master of None are all shows that basically took what Louis CK was doing and put their own spin on it. I don't think we will see anymore Louis stuff for a while because of his scandle. He was the one I was most disappointed in from all the scandles because he made such great content.

Your auto-correct is hilarious.

Why do you suppose Cliff and Claire are so hard on the kids? From my college experience I found that many guys who were first generation college students had parents who were very, say, focused, on them doing their school work rather than engaging in shenanigans.

Do you suppose the Huxtable family was an example of a "new, upcoming" family of the 80s that benefited from the 60s equal rights period and emphasized continual upward mobility?

Despite all the unsavory shit regarding Cosby himself, how do you now view this show @gourimoko?

Couldn't stand the Cosby show personally... Never liked it or watched it.

But.. I did understand and appreciate what they were doing.

Louie was also a very interesting show because it acted as a series of vignettes and sketches moreso than a regular sitcom. And while I appreciated what he was going for in a lot of his stories, the last couple seasons just kinda bored me. The Letterman arc was probably the peak of that show and it's a shame that he has been a creep to women.

Atlanta and Baskets are both awesome and both seem to take inspiration from Louie as well.

Atlanta might be one of my favorite shows. I like Baskets alot too. If you haven't checked out "I'm Sorry", I recommend it. It might be the most forgotten of the bunch but it's real good. It's actually is more laugh out loud funny then the rest of them.

That reminds me that Man Seeking Woman is one of the funniest/most clever shows I've ever seen. Not traditional at all but absolutely hilarious and not talked about enough.

I really liked Man Seeking Woman also. Some people didn't like it because the first couple episodes were the weirdest of the bunch. It felt like it ran it's course after 3 season.

I feel like the first season of You're the Worst is up there for one of the best season of a comedy. It was hard for it to live up to how high of a bar they set. I feel like season 5 which is the last will feel the same as man seeking woman where everyone will feel it ran it's course. Season 4 just didn't seem to have the magic but its still a very watchable show.

King of Queens was one I used to enjoy quite a bit too.

Leah Remini's ass had a lot to do with that though.
