Nine year vet. Hasn't missed a game in four years.

What’s crazy is, because he’s not an impact player, I’ve literally never heard of him.
But he played nine years.
Yep, as an MSU alum/fan, I wasn’t sorry to see him leave a year early even though he was extremely talented. There was a bunch of drama before he even got to MSU because he wanted to play there, but his mom refused to sign his scholarship (he wasn’t 18 yet) because she was afraid he would be too close to home and the bad influences of the people he was hanging out with at the time. He was one of the major factors in a shitty season & locker room for MSU in 2016. He half-assed it the whole year and completely stopped showing up to practices and meetings near the end of the season. He showed up to travel with the team for their last game at PSU and was told to stay home.Malik McDowell had some incredible tape coming out. Undeniable talent.
But he was a total shit head. Maybe prison changed him? The talent was absolutely never the question, he got drafted in the 2nd round even with an incredible amount of baggage with him because he was so talented.
When was the last time McDowell played a down? Five years?
He played in the 2016-17 NCAA season. So at the start of camp, he'll be around 4.5 years removed from game action.
What is wild though, he's only going to be 25 in June. Lot of football left if he can get his priorities in order.
I just saw it... bruh, that was so embarrassing. Complete moron. Dude better be different today.First time seeing that Mcdowel video. Just....wow. What a shithead. Hope he’s different today. Did he ever get a supervisor?

I think LeCounte goes into the diamonds in the rough category. A lot of people saw him as a day two safety, and then he plummeted down draft boards due to injury. It's hard for a rookie to make the team unless he has a good chance to contribute during the season. Seems like Berry's draft fell into 4 groups, each with a good chance of sticking with the team.
Group 1: Young top talent at positions of need:
#26 Greg Newsome II#52 Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
No college player is a sure thing in the NFL, but I love that Berry was able to get two guys that have a high ceiling/low risk that fit at positions of need. Both of these guys seem like they should be able to earn some snaps in their rookie season while being young enough to hope for continued growth next two years.
Group 2: Diamonds in the not so rough:
#91 Anthony Schwartz WR - if he was limited because of QB Play#110 James Hudson OT- if he was limited because he had recently switched to offensive line
These guys have enough college production to expect they have a decent chance at providing depth where the Browns need it if there's an injury. At the same time, both guys have very good measurables with a reason to believe that there were things beyond their control that held down their college production. So these guys have some proven skill, reasons to predict upside, while not flying the "total bust bait" flag that many raw upside players carry.
Group 3: Bodies for short yardage situations:
#132 Tommy Togiai, DT#153 Tony Fields II, LB
Browns defense was not good in short yardage situations last year. These picks look like bodies that can earn a roster spot if they can fit into those goal line defensive packages. Togiai is a big body for the middle. Fields can pursue laterally or come down hill into a gap. Seems like they have a chance to earn a spot on those units.
Group 4: Can return kicks:
#169 Richard LeCounte, S#211 Demetric Felton, RB/WR
Both these guys have a chance to contribute as kick returners while the team evaluates them for their natural positions.
