BROWNS OFF-SEASON 2020

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not really sure if this is the right thread, but I hate starting new ones, so...

What did you guys all think of the draft TV shows this year compared to prior years? Both my wife and me liked this better -- with the players being at home with their families, and the GM's in their basements -- than we did the whole red carpet/green room thing from prior years. I know they're going to back to doing in centralized next year in Cleveland, but I may miss the way it ran this year.

The whole green room thing just gets awkward.

I agree it made it fun. I wonder if we see a hybrid approach, were they try and keep the views into the coaches/GMs and keep them remote. Make the venue more of a big party, with the ability of players to come on stage and be drafted.

Who knows if this is true, but I suppose we'll see. Higgins has been tweeting like he's a part of the team.

I feel like our only glaring weakness right now is at LB due to how green everyone is. It doesn't help that this off-season is essentially a crap shoot, which will hinder the young guy's development the most, especially rookies transitioning to the NFL.

With that said, (glass half-full) I think Berry and Stefanski's age is a much better fit for this type of off-season than Buddy Boy and Kitchens. Football guys? Yes. Technologically literate? Doubtful.

I'm still not sure I agree with picking up the Njoku option.

Yes, it's only ~$6M, and it's only guaranteed for injury, but if he ends up buried on the depth chart, which is a good chance, and you cut him, which could be prudent when there are only 55 roster spots to go around, you don't get the compensatory pick value you would get from him walking, correct?

Man, $6 million is such chump change. Njoku, even at his rookie level of production, is totally worth $6 million a year.

It is, at least with it being a year before Myles gets extended and 2 years before Baker/Ward do, but it doesn't really seem like an "analytics" move when you look at the value of a roster spot, and of a potential 4th rounder - give or take - if you let him walk.

I think we should probably wait and see how he looks in Stefanski's offense before we write him off as buried on the depth chart. The guy basically missed all of last year with an injury, but he was one of the best TE prospects from the past five years coming out of school. He's got the ability and the athleticism to be a great NFL TE.

Sorry, but, I don't see him rotting on the bench with the number of two TE sets are are going to run. Gotta love some of you considering a mid round rookie pick as an instant indicator that a player they originally took in round one is now not going to be playing.

A rookie TE, no less. The position where rookies almost never produce at a high level.

Yeah I don’t get the hate for him. He was great bakers first year and got hurt and put in freddie dog house last year. Sure he drops some balls but he’s not braylon Edwards. He’s still a great jump ball target.
