Browns @ RAIDERS (Week 15)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He throws better on the run then he does in the pocket...

It's all about the talent you have around him... He clearly has the mental part of the game down and it looks like he can make smart decisions when he needs too.. From the QB spot, he looks like a "play maker" and will make plays.. That is all you can ask for..

If you lineup solid receivers, including a potential all pro reciever (Edwards) a potential pro bowl tight end (Winslow) a solid running back (Rube) and a decent line, Charlie can get it done... No question about it...

Hell, Montana had a weak ass arm, but he had a nice team around him and made smart decisions and was clutch when he needed to be...Not saying Charlie is Montana by any stretch of the imagination, but I do like this so called "moxy" ;) he has and the confidence he has out there... The command in the huddle is already there...

If the Browns improve both lines, get a run stopper and pass rusher, as well as a decent LB on the defensive side, and get an improvment at LT on the offensive line, they can be a team next year (if healthy) challenging for a playoff spot...

For as bad as their record is this year, they have lost 3 games I believe by a TD or less, and have played much better then last year and the poor teams before this year..

I personally don't think they are that far off from making noise in this division... I believe they have just under or over 30 million they can spend this year in free agency ? They can be much improved by this time next season... But alot of that depends on the health of the team and the recovery of both of our last two 1st round picks.. Not to mention making the right decisions via the draft and free agency... But it's possible...

i dont think the browns are that far off next year either, but you have to remember being the kind of team now is a lot easier than being a playoff team. just look at arizona, they were 8-8 last year and now look at them. we have a lot better players in different positions than the card's do but its hard to make that next leap.

you have to remeber with frye that they dont want to put the game on him, the coaches want it close at the end. these last couple of games are all for confidence, so running the ball a little to much is perfect for frye's confidence.

Here is the thing that I am still wierd about Charlie still:

Charlie always does his 8 step drop, moves up, and runs to his left or right and throws. I like it that he can do the running and throwing at the same time, but the point is that I have yet to see him be, and stay consistant in the pocket. I don't want him to always look to run before he throws!

Any news on Jeff Faine? I heard its possible he is also done for the year too? If so that is a big blow to our o-line. Hope he'll be ready for next year.

Don't worry about it... The dude has had 3 starts... Give him some time. With experience comes maturity. He will be fine.. I already love where his head is at..

Did you see that shot he took to the ribs while in the pocket ? He will never in his career suffer a harder direct shot then that... That was killer.. He took a minute, but got up...He will be fine in the pocket...

But when he is running from tackle to tackle, that really eliminates several lanes for the rush... It's a great thing..

Charlie made two great plays from the pocket. The above-mentioned "rib shot" throw he made which was big time. He also completed a third and 9 pass to Frisman on the final drive while setting up in the pocket. From the end zone replay he threaded it between a big DL paw and the referee. Great throws.

Charlie is the future. I believe.
