I really do think we should just slow down and be patient. Did you really think that we would have a remote chance of making the postseason this year? This season is for learning. And our team will NOT learn if we switch up the QB mid season. Failing is part of learning. But you won't get anything out of it if you do not bounce back, and not allowing a team to bounce back on its own is the worst way to screw things up.
Throwing in Charlie Frye now would be a mistake. Everyone knew in the beginning of the season that all of these things would happen. Browns would give a few good games, tank it in a lot, but show flashes of brilliance. We're nothing close to a playoff team, so don't think that Frye will be the immediate savior.
Another thing. What would Frye think of his coach if suddenly, his "mentor" is pulled out after a couple bad games. How would that wreck HIS nerves if he's thrust in to be the savior, regardless of whether he's ready or not. That the same thing could happen to him under the whim of the coach? No, I want stability and the assurance in our veteran, starting QB for the season. I want no more Butch Davis. I'd rather keep to the schedule and we'll see a great Browns team next season. Don't panic and mess everything up because you want ONE win this season. I have faith that Romeo Crennel feels the same way.
