I agree with that 100%, but there is already a HUGE Gov't contract company working on the fence, i believe the budget is some $2 Billion, i could be wrong on the exact money but i know its a substantial ammount of money.
Its not like their is going to be a whole Agency dedicated to Wire taps, all this really does is make them able to do it and not have to go to a DA for a warrant, or get some clearence to do so, they are just able to do it when they want. A warrant can be tedious to get, especially on wire taps.

I have a problem with people who think a 2 billion dollar fence is going to protect them. If we are going to protect borders then lets protect them, ALL of them. Fence isn't going to get it done. Besides that fence doesn't even go the entire way.
Also, just because it's tedious to get doesn't mean we need to eliminate warrents. There are steps in place to speed up the process in certain cases but those still need to be there. I think what is going to end up happening is a severe abuse of power the likes of which America has never seen before as we are on that threshold now. What needs to take place is for people to sit down and come up with an effective way of dealing with this problem if they don't feel secure. Opening mail and listening in on phone calls isn't very effective. Even a person selling serious drugs doesn't use the mail or talk on phones to speak on their business dealings what makes you think a highly trained person hell bent on killing would be any different?
