Caris LeVert: Two More Years!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Is LeVert back in 2023-24?

  • Cavs can't afford the $$$ to keep him and nothing is going to change that

  • After bricking shot after shot in the playoffs, Koby washes his hand and lets LeVert walk

  • Only if he signs for something close to the MLE

  • If Caris plays well in the playoffs, the Cavs will offer big $$$ to keep him

  • KobyAltman! No one else on the team fills his role, so stop sitting on your hands!

What the Cavs traded for Levert on 02-06-22:

Ricky Rubio
2023 First Round Pick
2022 Second Round Pick
2027 Second Round Pick

What the Knicks traded for Josh Hart on 02-09-23:

Svi Mykhailuk (to Charlotte)
Ryan Arcidiacono
Cam Reddish
2023 protected first round pick
Ante Tomic
I'd give my left nut to have Josh Hart on this squad.

context: all of the Cavs guards, including Rubio, died on the court that season. Only Garland survived. they had no creation. they started an end of career Rondo. they were digging in the G-League for players.

the first round pick sucked, but those 2 second rounders might as well have been toilet paper.

the Cavs have shitty luck, including in the draft. (I'm still mad they picked Windler. They better not pick Furphy.)

LeVert contract is expiring, hopefully his spot gets replaced with some of the "down on the roster" tall wings on teams blowing it up.

Id give your left nut for Josh Hart too
I'd give both of your nuts for Josh Hart. :)
Well, pull them out.

Let's get this over with and get those balls to the league offices.

LeVert provides bench depth, he isn't a guy you build around. That's why he's with the Cavs after a mediocre college career and two teams traded him away. He may not be a Cavalier next year. I will say that he fills a bench role, especially playing hard on his home floor. This wasn't a great situation for him because nobody was spacing the floor and his best skill overlaps with Donovan in driving to disrupt the half court defense. I believe the other role players need to find their shot from the outside in order for LeVert and Donovan to star in their role consistently.

Levert off the ball is a valuable player, our HC tends to forget about that and allows him to handle way too often.

Once the pass goes to LeVert the coach can’t control via marionette strings whether he goes dribble happy or not.

In game 6, he did what he could control and didn’t play him the entire 2nd half(I disagree with that)

In game 7, he gave him his regular second half minutes and LeVert rewarded him. Not sure I’d call LeVerts play in the second half as off ball/low dribble wing play.

Allen paired with LeVert seems to always generate easy Allen buckets when Very dribble probes. Hope we see some of that against BOS

Caris is an enigma though for sure

Just to clarify, I was talking about JBB using him as a backup lead guard.

When Levert catches it on wing after a bit of motion, he is way more effective then when he starts with the ball up top.

He wasn't great this series, but it was a bad matchup for him. Historically speaking he has had some really good games against Boston in the past. If we're going to slay the giant, we need more from LeVert.
