Who would you rather come out of the 2021 Draft with?

Completely agree. I’m just saying that in general 5&8 is a very good offer for 3.
It’s a good thought exercise for sure,

In 2018 for example, provided you have a really good FO, you coul pd have been faced with a Luka or Trae + SGA/Bridges/MPJ

People make the one dollar is better then two quarters analogy all the time, but typically there are more than a few dollars later than the top3. It’s just whether you trust your FO. And if you don’t, do you think the odds they get luckier at 3 than getting lucky at 5 and 8

Than theres the whole issue of will 5 and 8 even be offered up by Orlando. They may see this draft as deep enough in great talent to like where they’re at and not even consider moving 5 and 8 for 3.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if that offer's on the table.

I'm on record having Luka the #1 player in that draft, so can comfortably say that I wouldn't have traded that pick for pretty much anything. I don't think Cade/Green/Mobley are realistically that level of prospect.

My biggest question is, what are we doing with Sexton and Love?

I know best talent is always the best way to go, but since I didn't really watch any college basketball this year, how big is the difference between 3 and 8? Normally I would say go with the two players...but I don't know the difference talent wise between the two

The other thing that Fedor said on his podcast is that the Cavs have done alot of scouting on the guys 5-10 because that's where they expected to pick. That's where the appeal of 5 and 8 might come into play. They might have two guys they really liked from that category that they are comfortable with from all their research pre-lottery.
I think if they are really pumped about one of the players at 3 on the clock, they just pull the trigger, but I also think the temptation to trade down will be very real.I think if both Green and Suggs are still available at three, with Kuminga and Barnes also in play, the trade down becomes much more probable if Orlando wants to pay the price for one guy over whoever falls

The key here is who goes 1 & 2. If Mobley and Cade go in the top 2 the differences between Green, Suggs, Barnes, and Kuminga are for the most part, very marginal. Depends on what type of offers are out there.
I don't think there is any situation where the Cavs trade down with any team besides Orlando or OKC.
