I love Allen, but he's clearly the most expendable of our young core, if he can bring back a young wing, like a Jaylen Brown. The concern I have with Allen is that perhaps he's peaked and his value may be at its highest. I also wonder about the long-term viability of Allen & Mobley playing beside one another, as Mobley matures, gets stronger, & adds weight.I think Lauri and Allen get brought up for trades because they are the most moveable pieces in the Cavs core group of young players. Allen is really good and I think most of the league is starting to recognize how Brooklyn royally fucked up by not trying to keep him.
A trade centered around Allen as a center piece along with Lauri or Okoro plus picks might be a really good offer to a team that gets into a desperate situation with a superstar. Something to keep in the back of your mind if the opportunity arises.
How about a trade like this:
to BOS: Jarrett Allen, Collin Sexton, Ricky Rubio, & a 1st round pick
to CLE: Jaylen Brown & Robert Williams
