Cavaliers vs. Nets - Game 3/Round 2

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Another nice foul Z, get a holding call and don't even go for the rebound.

We had a great comeback going, but the momentum died when Lebron adjusted his wristbands (or making some sign?) during the inbounds, and RJ just poked the ball out of bounds.

We didn't force the issue with the rebounding advantage either.

Also no one could have predicted Ason Kidd would suddenly be a dead-eye jump shooter.

What a shitty game to watch. I dont know if the Cavs got spolied by a lucky draw with the Wash series or what, but they cant give this effort and expect to win. Queen James looked like an All-NBA 5th team player. Never showed up.

No one did. Was it coaching? Was it player effort? Both? Perhaps it was a good thing, cuz we cant expect to beat Detroit playing like this shit. Come on damnit!

I don't get too mad over Game 3s, they better bring it next game though.

As it is now, Detroit may sweep the Bulls, so they'll be the ones with the long layoff and hopefully some rust. A 4-1 may do us some good.

The most disappointing thing is the poor effort and hustle the Cavs had today. They got completely outworked by the Nets.
It looked like the Cavs got things turned around in the 2nd qtr to somehow be only down 2 at the half and than they come out with a pathetic effort in the 3rd.

Perimeter defense was poor today. Cavs constantly gave up easy penetration.
I thought Hughes had a terrible game today. He was jacking up perimeter shots and not working within the offense at all. He also was abused by Kidd.

It's too bad the Cavs can't run any plays and try to get their good perimeter shooters any shots. Sasha and Gibson barely saw the ball today.

The officiating left a lot to be desired too. I think Collins set about 50 moving picks and screens that went uncalled.

Many expected this to be a loss but the worst thing is the poor effort the Cavs showed today. There should be a big turnaround on Monday.

Did not really expect a sweep, but a little more defensive effort and some setups for outside shots from Sasha and Gibson would have given them a better shot. Also need to set up Gooden more since they have not had an answer all series for him. Lets bring some fire on Monday.

looking at few stats tells me all about this game beyomd the obvious lack of effrt and poor offensive execution that happens periodically with Mike rown teams

the difference in the cavs winning is not only rebounding margin burt second chance point as a result of offensive rebounds

neither happened today

Jason Kidd out rebounded both Z and Drew combined

the nets hustled and had 10 offensive boards the cavs 5

The big difference is that their big 3 (Kidd/VC/Jefferson) with 69 points outperformed our big 3 (Hughes/LBJ/Z) to 52 points

Drew and Sasha didn't do much either . . . . cmon Drew 4 boards in 32 minutes

Finally outside of lebron's 12 assists the rest of the team combined had 4 assists

I think this team needs a real pg and a sg that can shoot.

It's not coach Brown's fault that Larry's jumper drew more iron than net early on, Drew couldn't rebound, the bench was unproductive, and Lebron settled instead of attacked (no coach in his right mind asks for his best player to be a jump shooter)

I believer the Cavs lost this game on purpose so there will be another game at the Q so Gilbert can get more money.

Lebron's triple drew it to within 4 pretty late, then the boys decided to stop executing and to stop playing defense.

As annoying as Bill Walton is, he was right about ONE thing, and that was how much better the Cavs do when Jason Kidd takes his rests. Basically, the 2 Cavs runs the entire game were when Kidd was out. We need to do something to stop this guy because he's going to tear us up if he keeps playing at this level. I have no idea where his three point shot came from, but hes got it this series so we should stop leaving him open. Also, hes like 34 years old so it shouldn't be too hard to keep in front of him on D, hes not overly quick or anything.

But the hustle just wasnt there tonight or the will to execute late in the game. Thats what gets me the most
