Not even close to being on the level of Russell, Bird, Hondo, Cousy, McHale, etc.

Hell, Garnett was the most important cog in that championship team (in my opinion).

I can't stand him on TV but he was a very good player. Lock for the HoF. Statistically his career win shares on basketball-reference.com matches best with the following players in order: Havlicek, Barry, Gasol, Dantley, Pippen, 'Nique, Hayes, Bailey Howell, Chet the Jet Walker and Shawn Marion.

All of those guys had long careers and were in the tier just below MVP level.
