BTW, if y'all had to choose between these two options what would you choose?

Keep Love but trade TT for Melo OR Keep TT but trade Love for PG.

I will do the later but curious to see what others would prefer!

Tough one. I like PG more as a player, but I would like to see TT gone from the Cavs. I'm tired of his limitations. He's been in the league for 7 years and hasn't really learned to shoot or defend. Can only rebound, and he's not even that good on the defensive glass. He gets a lot of money to do ONE THING fairly well.

I haven't delved into the numbers, but I'm thinking the demise of Carmelo is being exaggerated. Get him on a great team like this where he'd be motivated and getting a lot of 1-on-1 looks and he would kill it, imo. Him and LeBron could rotate between the 3 and 4. And we all know how good melo is on the block.

Trade Love for PG, of course...

Giannis might be the one guy in the league I might trade Kyrie for.

Kyrie is one of the few PG's who is a great match for LBJ because he is lethal off the ball.

Giannis is a poor mans LeBron. He'd be marginalized with a player like LBJ because his point forward skills would go to waste with the ball in LeBron's hands so much.

Only guys in the league I'd consider trading Kyrie for are Kawhi and Anthony Davis. Beyond those two guys, I just don't see a good fit for someone playing alongside LeBron.

I love Giannis, I just don't think he's a great match alongside LBJ specifically.

Kyrie's season was unreal this year.....for further proof....

Kyries 25 / 5 / 47% / 40% season made him the youngest player to ever do it....and only 3 other playrs have done that all time (Bird, Curry and LeBron).

We are off in theory land now but I would trade kyrie for Giannis in a second

Giannis is going to be the best player in the league one day

I would too and Kyrie is my fav current athlete. Would prefer Ant Davis for fit but it's whatever

Lebron played his heart out and I'm really proud of him for it.

Also liked how he was giving Durant crap during stoppages of play throughout the series! KD didn't have much to say during one of the convos last night

Yea, at some point the future does outweigh the present, and Giannis on his rookie deal, with years and years of being under full team control remaining, is worth whatever chemistry issues we would have for a year or so.

To Chris' point, I think adding Melo or PG13 to this core would not necessary do much. Maybe a swap for Love and PG13 inches us closer but not much else.

The GSWs work because Green is happy to lose three shots in the postseason and still play All-NBA level defense. Klay in the same token is happy to lose 5 shots and still play All-NBA level dense. This illustrates why Melo does nothing for us

Out this four, who is going to be happy losing 4-5shots and play All-NBA defense??
LJ, Love, Melo, Irving

I'll wait for the answer.

That is their system moreso than their selflessness...

Warriors work because they can bring a versatile real pro like Iggy in and play him for 38 minutes in their biggest game (anyone trust a Cavaliers bench player for 38 minutes?)and get counted on production from Livingston and even play McCaw - a 2nd round rookie guard (we bought one of those in Felder) for 12 minutes (a full quarter of finals basketball) and not miss a beat...

People can talk about Durant all they want (and he played tremoundously) --but to have the confidence and system to just pass the baton to Iggy and Livingston and West and McGee and Clark and McCaw and truly not miss production is so huge.....

Whereas the Cavs are like LeBron is out for 27 seconds (((WTF JESUS))) and Bacon Grease replaces Irving and Frye and Derrick Williams can't get off the bench ??

Think about that... Patrick McCaw got more critical playing time than Frye and Derrick Williams.....

And people wanna just harp on Durant ???

Oh okay....

Well it's either be miserable sacrificing shots with a chance to win a championship or be miserable with too much on your plate while you have no shot at a championship

It's not like there's another way

Melo...might be in desperate enough straights and wanting a ring so bad I could see him making the move.

I just question whether he's going to be our version of Durant and balance out the scales so to speak.

We don't need a Deron Williams type. We need a guy that can clearly be a matchup problem on the floor. Does Melo still got it would be my question?

Obviously GSW's FA's bailing would help out quite a bit.

I think without question Melo still has it, and will pose as a threat to any matchup. He has the clutch genes in late game situations. He has the inside/outside threat, his game doesn't rely on athleticism once so ever, but I'm sure he has enough left to win a ring. I can guarantee that much.

Knicks are god awful and ruined the good of Carmelo, he needs to be under the bright lights again.

But none of that gets to the heart of the question. Out of those three (Melo, Irving, and Love) who agrees to take a backseat and play defense? The answer of course is none of the above because all three are incapable.

But I get Love for George (does Nike want three signature athletes in the same market?) if George is happy expanding energy on defense.
