Pretty weird to be going after Beilein right now when he has coached 2 pretty good defensive games where the offense looked better than what Drew was capable of in 75 games.

Right now I am only encouraged by his progress in what was a shorter than ever preseason. Right now he appears to have both the vets and youngins buying in

Yep, Cavaliers def rating this season is 97.1 (5th in the NBA).

Last season it was 117.6 (dead last in the NBA). Obviously we've only played two games, but that is encouraging nonetheless.

Was 116.5 in October last year. Dead last then too. Only the Bucks and Celtics were below 100 in October last year at 98.2 and 96.2 respectively.

Bucks are a good test on both sides. They were the best overall defense last year and one of the best offenses, though they are middle of the pack in the short sample size so far this season.

I really wish we could find a way to better keep Cedi in rhythm when he has a hot first quarter like he did tonight and in the opener. Too often he’ll score 7-8 in the first quarter and then only like 2 or 3 for the rest of the game.

At some point in the third, he had not touched the ball for so long that he was begging for the ball, but the guards were not even paying attention to see that. I did not see much ball movement this game. If there is ball movement, he'll get his shots within the flow of the game. Otherwise he is not very useful even if he gets the ball, because he cannot create much in iso.

I think when Clarkson is moved, maybe Cedi can play some with the second unit so he can move up to being 2nd or 3rd option on the floor.

Don't hate the role for him atm, be an efficient wing role player.

Yes, but at the same time if someone is hitting shots, and it is one of the factors in the team playing a good game as it was in tonight's outing, doesn't it make sense to nd try and keep them going instead of only getting them 4 shots for the rest of the game?

The starting unit played well in the first, didnt really think he stood out that much to force feed him?

He shot 3/4 and had 8 points If I remember correctly he was tied with TT for the most points in the quarter. TT got what like 13 more shots and Cedi only got four.
Last time I checked force-feeding him is the not the same thing as trying to involve a player in the offense more when they're playing well.

purposely trying to get a player to put up shots is force feeding... should come in the flow of the offense. TT got carried away for a bit there doesnt mean Cedi needs to

Agree to disagree I guess. I'm just saying if someone is hot and you are playing well as a tean then it makes sense to try and keep them going no? Like just a couple more shots, would have been nice.

Depends, I don't feel making three shots in the first quarter = hot though. Its a good start but it's not change the whole offense to get them shots type stuff. He got two open 3's for memory in the first quarter, bucks probably didnt allow that to happen many more times after that
