purposely trying to get a player to put up shots is force feeding... should come in the flow of the offense. TT got carried away for a bit there doesnt mean Cedi needs to
Exactly, the problem is that he did not get the ball in the flow of the offense. This should not happen regardless of his shooting. He might choose to shoot less or more depending on the day, but he should get the ball. If your offense does not involve one player at all, unless you have someone like Kyrie or Harden, this seriously hurts your offense, and makes it easier for defense.

Pretty weird to be going after Beilein right now when he has coached 2 pretty good defensive games where the offense looked better than what Drew was capable of in 75 games.

Right now I am only encouraged by his progress in what was a shorter than ever preseason. Right now he appears to have both the vets and youngins buying in

I read in an article recently that Bickerstaff is using only 1/3 of the defense he wants because he feels it would be better for the younger players to be able to grasp . It was just a blurb from a larger article and if I can find it again I'll post the link.

This is it to me. He is letting him sit too long.

I think this might be part of being a college coach and he will need to adjust to the NBA. The college game is so disjointed and there are so few guys that have the talent to get hot and stay hot for more than a short stretch. If a coach has one or two of those guys, they most likely are the team's top scorers and they are already the focus of the offense. I don't think in college a coach would ever adjust their plan or scheme for their 4th option on the floor to keep and stay hot.

I think over time Beilein will correct this and realize that talent level doesn't drop off as dramatically as you go down an NBA roster like a college roster does. Most NBA rotation players have the ability to get hot and change a game.

Then Harden is Beillein's guy . I hope he adjusts soon enough!

Smart move, like the approach... Much better than Longabardi's super complicated switches, those only works if you have athletic defensive wizards on your teams...

Feels like Cedi is just a lot more useful/comfortable when he isn't trying to be a lead ball handler/playmaker/scorer. He really makes his impacvt within the margins. I think keeping him around long-term is smart, I really like his potential role when we are able to get some really good star players in here who will then need guys like Cedi desperately to fill in the gaps.

Forget for a second that Beilein isn't actually drafting anyone, he demonstrably did not ignore talented guys who don't possess every offensive skill to fit his this mythical system that doubters keeper playing up. There is no strict Beilein system that only certain players can play in. He highly values certain traits, like pretty much every other coach ever. That's it. He would love a guy like Jokic. That was an absurd name to bring up.... Just a post from a place of complete ignorance. Nothing more to be said.

Ugh.

I was not criticism Beilein. I was criticizing what another poster represented Beilein's approach to be. Arguing "that's not really what Beilein believes" isn't disagreeing with me -- it's disagreeing with him. So, to put all this back into the original context, here's the original statement from another poster to which I was responding:

Zizic is a classic low post center who doesn't fit the modern NBA and Beilein's vision of five players who can all dribble, pass, shoot and drive. Assuming they have a top 10 pick next year I expect them to use it on a center who has some movement and shooting skills if they can get one.

This post is characterizing Beilein as not wanting Zizic because he's a "classic low post center" (as distinguished from not wanting him because he's not good), and it also is characterizing Beilein as rejecting a player who isn't consistent with his (alleged) vision of "five players who can all dribble, pass, shoot, and drive." If your point is "that's not a fair characterization of Beilein's approach, and he's really much more flexible than that in terms of wanting players", then great. But that's not the argument made by the poster to which I was responding.

To reiterate -- I don't want Koby to consider Beilein's vision when drafting players. If Beilein doesn't have a particular vision of players, or if Beilein's vision aligns perfectly with what Koby would do anyway, then that's fine.

5 of his shoots was in 3rd quarter. I'm glad he has been shooting well after our concerns in preseason.

9/17 so far 53%, the rest of team 33/111 29% (3 points)

Good game by Cedi. Played within himself. Did not force things. Stroked the open spot up threes without hesitation and knocked almost all of them down. All the makes were all net too. Good effort in the other aspects of the game. He's secured his contract and now can just play and grow through the season finding his role on this team.

Please watch Joe Vardon's question on 03:16 about Cedi.

Does anyone satisfied from Beilein's answers about him and his role?

Interesting! Certainly not very encouraging. Didn't get any positive vibes at all. He sounds like Cedi is a problematic player he tries to handle. Finally something to like about Lue :), he would certainly talk very positively and highly of Cedi.

It kind of seems like he doesn’t know much about Cedi’s game at all. Like one of Cedi’s worst/most in consistent aspect to his game is his spot up shooting. Probably another downside to Cedi playing Fiba over the summer and missing greeting time to interact and gain favor with the new coaching staff.
I should add to this that I like what the coaching staff has done with the team as a whole.

bad defense today but was great on offense. I really don't see the issue with his role atm
