Holy shit....

let me tee this up, living in Chi I don't get to watch many games (and 2 daughters under 5)

however, tonight, I get to see my Cavs with the local Bulls broadcast team.

and all I see are locks....flowing through the air...perfectly placed band to keep the pomade from his eyes.

Bravo Cedi. Swan Song.

Those locks are well taken care of.

Cedi is down to 35.5% on field goals and 30.9% on 3's. In March it's 29.5% and 20.5%. Why is he still playing at all?
I thought that too, I guess he moves the ball in the offense, can handle well enough to help break pressure, moves w/o the ball.. but he also does at least 3 "Cedi-things" every time he's out there.

No way he’s getting traded with how bad he’s been.

Yep.

He's incontrovertible proof that some players need strong systems and veteran floor-spacing players to succeed.

I remember practically this whole forum loved him his rookie year and raved about his hustle and energy. After LeBron left, though, some of us saw the limitations of Cedi in his second season. They've become even more apparent this season (Cedi's best 3pt shooting seasons involved LeBron and/or Love playing a lot). If you don't have a strong system/vets around this guy to help space the floor for him, he frankly isn't much of a player.

It is what it is.

Cedi has always been a player who tries to mimic someone else that is or was on the roster. Unfortunately I think the Cedi we are seeing this season is trying to mimic Clarkson and be this team's 6th man. He is jacking 3s and throwing up wild lay ups. It's basically what he thinks a 6th man should do. Also if he looks around the second unit whoelse is going to step up to be the scorer off the bench.

Can we just admit this guy stinks and shouldn’t be on an NBA roster? He gets a chance last night (again) and sucked.

Cedi is a good passer. He's in the 83rd percentile among forwards in assists and the 77th percentile in assists per usage rate. He also protects the ball pretty well, ranking in the 80th percentile in turnovers. But he's only in the 8th percentile in points per shot attempt and his shooting percentages are shockingly low and getting worse.

Cedi is in the 14th percentile of NBA forwards in shooting percentage at the rim and the 21st percentile on 3's, so he's ineffective from short and deep. He's in the 24th percentile in free throw shooting but that's not a big deal since he only averages 1.6 foul shots per game.

His offensive and defensive rebounding are both in the 34th percentile. His block percentage is in the 17th percentile. However, his steal percentage is in the 83rd percentile but that only equates to one steal per 25 minutes.

So basically he passes well, doesn't commit a lot of turnovers and gets one steal per game. But his shooting is in the lower 20% across the board and his rebounding is well below average.

Stevens should be getting all his minutes. He's a far superior defender, shot blocker, rebounder, mid-range shooter, and finisher at the rim. They're both awful at 3's, but at least Stevens knows it and doesn't shoot any. Cedi is a better passer and commits fewer turnovers.

At this point Cedi is in his fourth season and is showing no signs of improvement. He's actually having his worst season. He clearly will not be in the rotation when the Cavs are good enough to make the playoffs. He doesn't have an upside, IMO. By playing Cedi they're wasting time they could be used developing Windler and Stevens.

Cedi is in an awful slump having made 2 of his last 21 three-points attempts. Last night he was 0-for-4 until finally hitting an uncontested three in the final minute when the outcome had long been decided. He's clearly lost his confidence. Last night Thomas got 20 minutes and I found myself wondering if JBB was finally about to move on from Cedi. I love the guy's hustle and intensity and he does not shy away from contact but he just doesn't have the shooting, ballhandling, or rebounding skills to be part of a playoff rotation.

There was obviously some chatter about trading him prior to the dealine... and IMO he heard it and did not take it very well. He hadn't been playing great before that, but it seems like his focus is way off and his aggressiveness has followed.

Couple pretty bad turnovers last night. I agree with whoever said that the man needs a system, and he doesn't have one.
