Classic NBA

Reading Charles Oakley's book atm

I agree… Jerseys today are trash…Although I do like that Bucks home one where there incorporate the 80’s & 90’s version

I really enjoyed Winning Time on HBO. I also recommend the book Showtime by Jeff Pearlman, which Winning Time is based off of.

If you like old school NBA stuff, it's great.

RIP Bob Lanier.

Lanier was like the Jimmy Carter of the NBA. No matter what you thought of him during his playing career, the guy was a deeply committed to improving the community in retirement. Good man.

My all time favorite backcourt player in NBA history. I stole his offensive moves in my point guard days. In the video Denzel's words could be my own. Black Jesus, the Curtis Mayfield of the NBA, .....Earl the Pearl Monroe.

Ron Harper, Steve Kerr and our own @Randolphkeys having themselves a day….

It pisses me off so much seeing games like this.

Harper was such a dynamic offensive player before his ACL. And a great defender. He did it all.

He was the exact player the Cavs needed to beat Jordan, and I think they would have taken a couple series, and titles, between 1990-1995 had they had a few healthy years with him on the team.

He made Jordan work on both ends. And over a seven game series maybe you start to get Jordan worn down in Games 6 and 7 which then gives the Cavs the advantage with their better starting line-up.

The Cavs without him were very diminished. That is not to say they weren't great. They were. The 1991-1992 team was easily the second best team in the NBA. But that team was not near as good without Harper. That's how good those Cavs teams could have been -the second best team in the league was a diminished version. They would have been insanely good when hitting their primes from 1991 on.

Without Harper their offense was almost too elegant. It didn't have a guy who could take over and drop 40. I mean Price and Daugherty could give you 30 on any given night (and for Daugherty 44 was his career high). But t'was the rare occasion they could put together multiple games a week like that. Harper could and did. They didn't have the guy who could collapse a defense, a drive and kick threat. And of course, on D, they were just brittle. All rim-protection or nothing much of the time. Harper was a pest, could lock-down on the perimeter and was a fucking 2/3 who averaged over a block a game.

Harper was the heart and soul of that squad. Can't believe he never made an All-Star Game.
