True, but the logistics...
you've got the whole cloning issue, the fact the league won't allow eleven # 24s on the field at the same time, squeezing 53 Chubbies into one locker....it's madness.

You are being fucking ridiculous.

All the clones would have different numbers so we could tell them apart, only the original Chubb would wear #24.

Hmmm...idk....seems complicated...

I'm wondering how the mathematical Tetris with the salary cap is going to have to work soon.

Initially was thinking they would, honestly, let Chubb walk due to the potential aging curve, the supposedly "fungible" nature of running backs, and due to how they were able to lock up Hunt for dimes on the dollar and, length-wise, months on the year because of his off-the field problems. But Chubb proved his worth in absentia, as well as his team-firstness this last game, will result in what I expect a good but heavily non-guaranteed extension.

Let's not kid ourselves, I still think Baker gets paid.

Ward I'm not sure on, unless he is willing to take a literal hometown discount.

I think we re-sign Chubb. We re-sign Ward as long as he can show he can stay healthy. We need to keep room for Baker. We’ll get rid of either Jarvis or Odell in the next year or so.

I think the only way we pay Teller in the $12 mill range is if it’s a shorter contract that expires prior to Wills extension. Conklin’s salary goes up to $10 mill next season. Bitonio is making a little over $9 mill. I just can’t see us paying Teller, Conklin, and Bitionio a combined $30+ mill a year for any extended period of time.

I think signing Teller could mean we wind up trading Bitonio. Maybe not this year, but possibly following next offseason.

I know people are going to not like the way it feels emotionally, but don't be surprised if the Browns don't re-sign Chubb.

Put yourself in the shoes of a random team who already has Kareem Hunt on that sweet deal. He's your lead back, and he's good. Nick Chubb is a free agent. Are you going out and paying him top dollar to join your franchise when you already have a capable RB1 in Hunt?

Conklin, Parkey and Hughlet all have to test negative today then they are back tomorrow?

Agreed. And RBs have a nasty tendency to fall off a cliff. You just can't give big money and a long-term deal to a RB these days.

Just take a look at the top RBs from just 3 years ago - most of them (Zeke, Gurley, Leveon, Fournette, McCoy) are significantly worse after such a short time...perhaps Hunt is the only one who is still as good as he was.

Wait you guys are seriously discussing not re-signing Chubb?
Yep. It's certainly a possibility.
You re-sign your home-grown all stars.
Well that's just not an absolute--especially when you draft well enough to not be able to fit them all within the cap.
We will cut somewhere else before we let Chubb go. We better.
Maybe.
We have the best rushing attack in the league. Let’s keep it that way.
I think I could make an argument that a rushing attack that keeps Teller and has Hunt as the feature back will be better than a rushing attack that has a replacement right guard plus Chubb.

Freaky...but you might be right about that. Looking at Hunt's numbers with and without Teller should tell us a lot.

How did Myles go from Hes coming back tomorrow to Covid list? How would they not have already had that test?

What a bummer. Given the timing, he’s potentially out next week too.

Must have just kept testing negative.
And then tested positive.

Did he test positive? Or just exposed?

edit - Tested positive.

Welp, peak Browns to lose your best player to Covid

Defense might be in trouble this weekend. Need some guys to step up big.
