Dude was the key part of a great defense in the 80s. A corner stone of a team that went to the AFC Title game 3/4 years. A team that was good enough to win Super Bowls.

Those numbers vis-a-vis his peers are damning (for the HOF voters).

Matthews was a workman, gritty blue collar guy* that never did, and still doesn't, get the hype those guys did.

Time to rectify an injustice.
