Cleveland Browns 2020 Regular Season: What a Ride!

Anecdote.

For some reason I was thinking about the Hail Mary passes Couch threw to win games.

And of course KJ was a huge part of that team.

Everyone thought the release was shocking.

Until they found out why... and then people got pissed because Davis got rid of the wrong guy because William Green sucked ass.

I think about Tim Couch and his Hail Marys multiple times a month. I wish I was kidding. I was 6 when they came back, and it’s the first football memory that I distinctly remember having.

Looking ahead to next week, I am really nervous for our defense to play the Titans. If the Raiders can bully us with Jacobs, I can only imagine what kind of day Henry will have. We will really miss Ward with the threat of AJ Brown too. I can’t picture us having a chance unless the offense explodes.

Lost in all the hubbub...did Sendejo low-key have a good game today? This was maybe the first game all season where I didn’t see any egregious mistakes by him.

He whiffed badly on one tackle. Whiffed on another but it forced Robinson inside to be tackled by someone else. Also had a tackle broken.

So yes, he had a good game lol. Made some key pass breakups - happy he had some positive impact on a game for once.

There won’t be an 11 win team that misses the playoffs. I have extreme confidence in that and I think that a 10 win team can make it
Looking at the schedules:
to win 11 games the Raiders need to win out, the Ravens, Colts, and Dolphins can lose once, and the Browns, Titans, and Bills can lose twice

The Raiders play both the Colts and the Dolphins. For the Raiders to win 11 games that would eat up both of the Colts and Dolphins 1 loss they can have.

the Colts have the Texans twice, Jaguars, and Yinzers besides the Raiders

the Dolphins have the Chiefs, Bengals, Pats, and Bills besides the Raiders

Ravens have an easy schedule besides us and the Yinzers, but they also have 20 guys on the reserve currently.

I think the Raiders, with their loss today, have basically clinched that they won’t get 11 wins (they need to win out). Looking at the Dolphins schedule I think 2 losses are likely as well. These teams playing each other will help. If 2 of them slip up then any 11 win team will be safe. God bless the Falcons and God curse the Jets

I had explosive diarrhea from eating too much Halloween candy in Sunday School and missed the first win in new Browns history almost dying of dysentery on the toilet.

Not a bad memory to have.

The 2002 Kardiac Kids were a fun team. Some of those games I came close to dying.

And back then we were not yet weighed down by the baggage of the most incompetent regime in the NFL. That year there was hope the team would improve and that Couch would become a franchise QB.

And then Butch Davis decided to create a QB controversy for the hell of it. And things went down hill for 16 years.

I didn't say that no 10 win team will make the playoffs. I said it would be difficult for a 10 win Browns team to make it. A 10 win Raiders team is pretty much a lock to make it. They would likely have the best conference record giving them the tiebreaker over all of the other 10 win teams, assuming there are more than 2. The Browns would have to beat the Ravens to have any chance of having the tiebreaker against them, and maybe not even then. The Browns and Dolphins would go to the 4th or 5th tiebreaker. The Colts losing today was nice though. There's a chance Miami doesn't get to 10 wins. If it comes down to the Browns and Colts for the last spot, the Browns get it. We need Tennessee to win that division. All of it could fall into place, but it's a lot to ask. A lot more than just beating at least one of Tennessee, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh.

I’m not going to lie to you, I watch a few Lions games a year. I just don’t watch enough Lions to feel confident making statements on eye test because the sample size I catch is too small. I agree with you on counting stats, but I think since I’m looking at it relative to his other counting stats it still paints a relative picture of how the dome has helped. Again, this adjusts for nothing opponent wise, pre/post megatron etc. but the argument for Stafford has been heavily focused on counting stats so I wanted to look at how much of that would actually translate to The Great Outdoors™️
If you want to see a real staggering stat, look at the Lions offense this year with and without Golladay.
