I know this is going to be an unpopular take given that many have left this team for dead, but I think we’re gonna dad dick the Bengals and they will be playing from behind most of the game so they will abandon the run at some point

I watched a few bengals games last year and the entirety of their game week 1 and that team fucking blows. The pressure we brought against a substantially better offensive line in week 1 is going to make Burrow’s life hell, something LA did with relative ease on Sunday

as you have brought up I am expecting to dominate on the ground. Honestly I think we just abuse them in the trenches in an imposing win
Yo

This is why so many of us were thrilled with the Stefanski hire. He is great at scripting drives and the zone-blocking scheme allows RBs like Chubb and Hunt to thrive. As long as the RB can make a quick read and cut, it’s open holes for days.

Baker played pretty well, too. He had two bad passes - one really bad one - but otherwise was a net positive. Stefanski put him in positions to succeed.

I’m actually confident we win this game if Baker throws 40 times... he was diming and finding the open guy all game.

One pick and that throw away that went down as intentional grounding were the two blips.

However, Stefanski’s offense was exactly how I envisioned it this week. Guys running open all over the place.

Great game, very encouraging performance overall.

Defense still sucks though outside of a few players. Bottom 5 defense in the league without a doubt. Hopefully the offense can build on this and improve moving forward.

Alright now. Am I crazy for bringing up Earl Thomas over and over? Would a 1 year deal be such a bad idea? He should be open to that and he can parlay it into a 2-3 year deal for another team next season and ride out his career. We really need a Safety. Ward is on an island. Money Mitch held his own. We’re at least getting some help at LB with Mack Wilson coming back. We have got to get a Safety in here though man.

Massive, massive 4 game stretch coming up for us and we need to go at the least 2-2 to be in the hunt for that 6th or 7th playoff spot at the end of the year..

vs WASH
@ DAL
vs IND
@ PITT

Tough stretch.

Chubb and Hunt rip off 210 without Conklin. Cincy's d-line was banged up but still. Could've been more if we had just stuck to the run all 2nd half.

Dude, I'm down. I don't care about his attitude or reputation or whatever. This defense sucks. Honestly, it could really use some attitude.

Bring him in here.

I dont think anything about that game was a dad dicking or imposing, otherwise spot on.

Correct in the sense that I wasn't super nervous for most of it, but the Bengals were always in it.
I think we were definitely imposing on the offensive line even without Conklin. That was some just straight up gorgeous running football. That last drive the Bengals KNEW we were running every play. It was coming off of a red zone interception from Baker. It was “we are going to run until you stop us” and we just absolutely MASHED them

pulling guards, pulling tackles, Austin fucking Hooper was pulling as a backside TE and lead blocking

I will admit the defense let me down, but offensively we could not be stopped

Happy to get a win for sure. Big positives I saw tonight:

-Play calling: Thought we could've done something different on that goal-line stand, but in general playcalling was great.
-Hunt/Chubb: Have to credit the OL as well, but these guys were unstoppable.
-Wills: Looked pretty dominant

This game kind of confirmed some of my general thoughts on the team I had pre-season. Mainly that the Browns probably need to score at least 28 in order to win a game. The Bengals are just an all-around bad team that might win 4 games this year.

Also, any good offensive team is probably going to score 30+ on us. After seeing the first two games, I'm struggling to see how this isn't the case. About the only chance we're going to have in many of these games is by running the ball and controlling the clock.
