And you are correct, $103 million over the lives of these contracts isn't that much. It just looks like a press release that Dolan would approve of. I can just see him telling the editor over at indians.com, "Make sure you let the fans know I'm committing to spending $103 million!" If he thinks that will bring fans back to the Jake he is sorely mistaken. Only a winning team will help attendance. And the only way to get that winning team is to increase the payroll. We currently have the 24th highest payroll in MLB. This isn't Kansas City Dolan.
