I don’t think we should get rid of him or Sexton! I just think we should look to upgrade either of their positions with more size (6’5-6-8) and shooting and move one of them to the bench! Improves our starting lineup and improves the depth on the bench in one move!

Garland is having a solid year 2. He has clear positive improvements across the board from year 1. And he's having big games and showing big flashes of what is yet to come. As we know, years 3 and 4 are where young guards GENERALLY tend to make their "leaps". Garland shows all the classic signs of a guy who is ready to take massive leap. It may even begin late in this season...seriously...watch the last 10 or so games and if Garland starts stringing together a bunch of good games it will be a prime indicator that he's going to take that next step after another training camp and pre-season.

He's gonna take another leap..maybe multiple. He has all the tools and then some.
For Garland to become the player I THINK he can be, he either needs to get more aggro or the Cabs needs to trade Sexton (something I'd be perfectly ok with)

I rather trade the passive garland.

I don't even know what Passing Creation Volume vs Quality is, alls I know is it supports what my eyes have been telling me since watching this kid in-person and watching how the other 4 guys on the court respond to his presence and approach to the game.

I would REALLY like to see Garland, Okoro, Windler, (Love or Nance or Wade), Allen as a starting 5 with Sexton being a terror off the bench for 5 games in a row before the season is over.

My personal goal for 2021-2022 season would be to add Evan Mobley to this core lineup, bring in a bigger and more experienced veteran PG to bridge Garland/Sexton platoons, and add one more swing with ideal length and height as a prospect to grow with the core 4/5, make Nance the Sexton whisperer and team captain to that invaluable 3rd big man role and start next season like this...

1. Garland
2. Okoro
3. Windler
4. Mobley
5. Allen

6. Sexton
7. Nance

As important as it is for another year of growth from the players, I can imagine a world where JBB gets better OR a better tactician is brought in to sit next to him, you find the right guy for #8 (Dinwiddie, Rubio kind of guy), and you plug in one more young wing prospect with IDEAL length and height to be a matchup problem at either 2/3 and then this is a team fighting for homecourt advantage and penciled in for a floor of 5-7 without a question in my mind.

Collins for Sexton sounds better.

Feels like that starting line-up needs a competent shot creator other than Garland otherwise you're down before the game even starts.

Collins for Sexton sounds better.

John Collins? Why would Atlanta do that?

Collins for Sexton sounds better.

I consider that only if Mobley is out of the question.

Collins doesnt compare to Mobley, Mobley will be one of the top 3 picks. If we get pick 4 or later in the lottery, I'd consider it.
