I’m ready to officially say that Garland has made “the leap” from intriguing young player to pretty much fringe all-star.

As he grows and matures and builds chemistry with this team over multiple seasons of continuity hopefully(something that we rarely get to see here but could pay dividends in the long run), as he continues to transform his body more and more every offseason…I do believe he will be an all-star sooner rather than later.

He is 21 years old. 21!!! That’s why the turnovers don’t scare me too much.

He can play with the best of them. That’s why guys like Steph Curry say the things they do about him. The kid has shown dynamic and elite ability in scrimmages, camp, practice, etc.

Now he’s showing it in games. It was always a matter of when, not if.

Shit I’d argue Garland is the 3rd best player in his draft class behind Zion and Ja.

I’d say it goes…Ja, Zion, Garland, Herro, Barrett in that order. Then Hunter, PJ Washington and Cam Johnson right outside that as good role players.

That was actually a prettty good draft in hindsight.

Garland is ascending though. I think it would be prudent of the Cavs to get an extension done with Darius as early as possible. If they think there is any opening to lock him up beyond next season for anything short of a max contract, I would seriously explore it. Because I do think Darius Garland is going to be a guy who can get a max offer sheet by the end of next season. Now, I know Klutch may decide to advise Garland that he should not agree to taking less than a max and may be willing to take their chances in RFA…

I do have some hope that Garland decides he loves being here with Mobley particularly as well as Allen and if the Cavs come swinging with a competitive 5 year offer in the 125 million range that maybe they can get something done….l

No way he takes that offer...5/25? He might not be a super max, but he is going to cost us a max or close to it. He plays a winning style of baskeball and 18.5 and 7.2 guy in just the begining of his 3rd season?

His agent, the Cavs, Darius, ect arent stupid enough to accept or offer,

Garland is the next big thing.
All things considered, tonight is probably the best game of his career.

On the road against a quality opponent, he dictated the pace of the entire game while also leading the team in scoring. He was responsible for an absurd amount of the team's points in the first half and hit a couple knockout punches in the third quarter.

We're all justifiably high on Mobley, but Garland's ascent is currently the X factor in this team's ceiling going forward. If he's as good as we're seeing him show consistent flashes of, they have the talent *now* to develop into contending for conference championships.

What an incredible 12 month turnaround.

I won't complain about his 7 turnovers...I won't complain about his 7 turnovers...

Good game young fella.

He is getting reallllly good at those pull-up demoralizing threes during big runs. Had a clear lane to the basket on one of the runs but instead pulled up for an all-net three.

Lol Garland is taking the Sex out of Sexland
As recently as a month or two ago there were people saying that Sexton was the better player and a bigger part of our core than Garland. Those people were clearly wrong.

In any case, Koby Altman is either looking like a genius or is the luckiest guy that his players are so overperforming expectations.

Damm he might be the star people were talking about. He is putting stats while winning is incredible

ESPN botched the highlights.

So much for “he’s a practice warrior”

He’s a star in the making, y’all.

his 3 ball is starting to come out with a vengeance. You just can’t give this dude any space.

Too fast. Too skilled. Unstoppable
