Yeah i agree losing Sexton was huge and it would eventually affect the team. Koby needs to make a move now to get a vet SF/SF ( Don't need to be a great defender. Just someone who can shoot and score)to try and fill the role at least for this season. Don't wait until the trade deadline and do it now. We don't even need someone who would be here long term, just a stop gap until Sexton is back next season. Can't be that hard to get.
It's been said elsewhere, but we need a Flip Murray.

There's gotta be someone better than Kevin Pangos somewhere in the G League or on the waiver wire. He can barely get the ball across halfcourt without it getting swatted away.

Can you imagine how screwed we'll be if either Garland or Rubio go down for a significant amt of time?

Why Hasn't Nembhard been getting a shot. He has size, and he can defend. We have him on a 2 way and he hasn't seen the floor at all.

Anyone else reading too much into this? He said life *after* Sexton, not life *without* him...
As far as this season is concerned he is correct though.
Without Collin in the lineup defenses can just focus on Darius esp with Okoro in the starting lineup. It's no wonder Garland looks exhausted in the 2nd half of many games.

typically, teams play their two ways in the G League early and move them up to the NBA team more after the all star break. Two reasons for this - You want them to get as many minutes a possible on the court while you develop them and that doesn't happen if they are warming the end of the NBA bench. Also, they only get so many days with the parent club and if you've blown those days early, when they weren't really needed, you don't have them if you have a rash of injuries and they really are needed.

The limit was changed with Covid has it returned to normal?

that's a good question. I had assumed we were back to the "old rules" but that was just an assumption. I don't know the answer.

Garland definitely is a guy who has 50/40/90 potential.

Right now he’s 47/39.2/88.5. In year 3 after a slow first 7 games or so.

He has ascended to an entirely new level. No longer just a practice phenom.

I believe Garland has superstar potential. Guys who can shoot the way he does, with his handles, speed and court vision don’t come around every day.

I went from thinking the Cavs may be able to get him at a bit of a discount to thinking that it’s almost certain that Garland will demand a max contract. If he plays like this and continues to get better going forward, he deserves it.

As a Virginia Cavaliers alum I’m biased, but would love to see Kyle Guy have a spin. High IQ, plays off screens, can make the right pass, hits the 3 (especially corner), high FT%.

Morant is on a Westbrook, Francis, prime John Wall trajectory... Garland is much more on a CP3, Nash, prime Tony Parker trajectory

One trajectory is fun for highlights but doesn't impact winning as much. The other is all about getting the wins and will get every ounce out of his skillet to lift the floor of the entire team in order to do it.

Give me Garland in this debate
Agreed, just wanted to also point out that one trajectory often leads to a much longer effective shelf life than the other. Nash, in his final year with the Suns, logged over 10 APG and just barely missed shooting 50/40/90, at age 37, and went on to play two more seasons with the Lakers. CP3 is still producing at age 36.

He's still raw and 2 years away though...from being an MVP vote getter.

Sounds like a guy who would contribute very little honestly because you just described what should be Dylan Windler on this team.

(To be clear, not knocking your suggestion but rather critiquing our ability to extract this kind of skillet from our players...if Guy can do what Windler should be doing then I'm all for it)
