He may never be an above average defender because he is a poor rebounder. But I suspect he will be a plus defender in the playoffs.
Garland was involved in quite a few rebounds in game 2. I'm not sure how many he got credit for but he was in the middle of things all game long, helping to limit their possessions.

That was an absolutely absurd clunker.

It was like he was openly sabotaging the game. Impossible to win with Garland playing like he lost all of his talent.

I have no answers as to what happened.

I feel like Garland isn't able to adjust his game on the fly. Like if he is having an off night, he doesn't know how to put himself back into rhythm. It's basically a recipe for diaster when our head coach just isn't good at in game adjustments either.

When we are so top heavy and reliant on our starting guards to create offense, we just don't have the wiggle room to win games when Garland isn't playing well.

Garland is about at the development when Luke fought Vadar in ESB. The basic skills have developed, but consistency and control aren't there yet. Brunson has 3 years on him with age and it shows.

fwiw, Mobley is Luke at the end of the self titled.

His body language gets terrible too. He kept putting up those shots, but he didn't shoot them with confidence the way, say, Mitchell always does. Then the rest of his game falls apart as well, aside from shooting.

Was just thinking about DG saying "we some dogs" awhile back. Looked like some miniature poodles last night. Yip yip.

One of the worst performances from a Cavs all star player. Maybe my memory is bad, but I don’t ever remember kyrie ever playing that bad, or even mo Williams days when he didn’t always show up. Yesterday made me appreciate kyrie more. He always came to play and to win

Had a debate in here earlier in the year where Garland ranks among point guards and I put him ahead of Jrue Holiday and had him somewhere around 8th or 9th.

I was wrong. He is not better than Jrue Holiday and honestly, he's not better than Jaylen Brunson either.

He's 23, it was his first road playoff game, and it was obvious he was upset with how he played, but he's why we have one win right now.

So give him some slack.

Sheesh.

Kyrie had plenty of terrible games. He played badly in the Indiana series, and didn't show up in one of the Toronto and Boston series' until game 4+; they were down 2 games to the Raptors before he played well.
