Demarcus Cousins: Refuses to be Barkley, Ewing and Malone

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
At what point does the league push for a fantasy draft and start back from scratch lol

It's almost the only solution. It could be a rolling draft of player instead of free agency. Players enter the draft every 3 years so 1/3 of the players switch teams each year. Salary based on your draft position.

Idk man.. When you're one of the very best players in the league how much fulfillment can you really get out of winning when you know that your team doesn't even need you? It would be better than losing every game, sure, but he could've signed with a different contender, say Boston and actually have been needed. Cousins is a luxury at this point. If he doesn't play a single game this year his team will still win the championship. Winning would feel empty to me in that situation.

Close games are stressful as hell to watch but you feel a sense of accomplishment when they're over. I loved the eastern conference playoffs this year.
Are we talking about cousins?

Cousins has been too irrelevant for how good he is. He hasn't even gotten close to winning. I don't think anyone wanted to pay him, idk, but I would have taken a cut for a year and get a for sure championship and then see where everything is. That's.. Quite a way to punt on a season. And he's probably not what he was anymore.

Take the sure thing, enjoy the fortune. Not exactly a lost year. Get it crossed off the career checkr list. God knows he isn't winning anywhere else. Guarantee javale mcgee had more fun than LeBron last year

Just remember in game 1 the charge and other terrible calls. Remember in game 3 LeBron got 0 fts in the 1st half.

They're already one of GOAT teams and have the refs on their side as well.

Boogie is probably never going to get thrown out of games now. He'll get the custom Draymond technical foul plan where he'll get hit with one tech and then be allowed to yell and scream in the refs faces.

It's hilarious watching ESPN people (who are partners with the league) try to spin this as something that's good for the league. I really thought there was enough talent in the league that would allow for growth of the league especially right now as the NFL is having trouble for a number of reasons but this off season it's almost as if nothing really has any impact. A whole conference is basically being dissolved and it's just another day in the NBA.

If I'm a fan on the east coast what's the point of even watching the league now? There's nothing to really get excited about for like the next four seasons.

I typed "yahoo NBA" into Google to see what was up in the NBA world. Saw Golden State signed DeMarcus Cousins in the results. Laughed. Thought it was silly and from one of the spoof sites. It was Yahoo NBA's site!!!!!!

WHAT. THE. FUCK???????

Oh well. We made the right move and so did LeBron. Need to focus on rebuilding for the post-Golden State NBA and LeBron focus on his post-NBA Hollywood interests. This is that bad.

Good luck to Houston and Boston with that.

Speechless.

I just woke up. Checked r/NBA and this is what I see. Fucking Hell. Thank fuck LeBron is gone. If he was with us and this happened, I would have lose all hope of watching the NBA next year. Absolute fucking bullshit.

Imagine if we gave San Antonio the kitchen sink for Kawhi and then this happened? It'd be like Golden State signing KD all over again.

And i'm not interested in explanations about Cousins' not being the same player. Golden State's circumstances are tailor-made for regaining form.

Now he can thug, shoot threes, play 20 minutes per game while that foot returns to 100%, get a ring, and secure his next big contract.

Yea, his injury was terrible, but I'd argue the best skills he had didn't even rely so much on athleticism, mainly his post game, passing and 3 point shooting. And he is gonna have single coverage against a league getting smaller?

The fan in me, their offense will look absolutely insane. I know it's simple to say because of their talent, but man.

If I was a golden state fan I would have nutted on myself.

As a cavs fan now I'm relieved he left and we don't have to try and contend anymore...
If we would have kept lebron and tried to get kwahi or pg then this happened I might have legit cried.
At this point I don't really even care cause we are gonna be in rebuild mode for a few years anyway. By the the time we are ready for a playoff push these guys are gonna be old and broke down anyway.

But as a NBA fan, HOLY FUCK?! Who saw this shit coming.... Jesus fucking fuck, I mean it's over the season and playoffs are over.
Might as well pretend the warriors don't even exist cause that is some NBA 2k my gm with the rules off shit right there.

Everyone else should just be excited for watching their teams grow and compete against regular teams. Like who ever makes it to the west conference finals and the eastern team that makes the finals are the real NBA champs cause these warriors are just unfair.....

At this point man, fuck it we might as well stay in win now mode and try to make it back to the finals without LBJ.

The media and comparison culture did has officially ruined the league. Competition was paramount once but luck (city, FO drafting+ ownership spending) also impacted how far a potential HOF player got on the all-time list. We overvalued the destination and undervalued the journey. KD was ridiculed but after winning his first title on a team that just went 73-9, the KD is better than LeBron talking points started. Room temperature IQ logic I know, but guys see that and think maybe winning cures all.

They were already an overwhelming favorite with LeBron joining LA Cavaliers, and Houston losing Ariza but this just makes the inevitable even more laughable. Boston is a team to look out for but I’m not certain they will do what they should do which is feature Tatum.

NBA marketing teams for TNT and ESPN have their work cut out for them next season and Adam Silvers will be receiving an uptick of questions on the lack of parity in the league.

I’m shocked they didn’t sign Rondo but I’m certain they will somehow afford Tyreke Evans.

Interesting because the way it looks on Twitter, everyone feels like the Cavs when they got Durant. What's the point?

I guess we have to hope Cousins will destroy their locker room. I don't see it Tho.

Only hope left is that Melo gets bought out and joins them.
