I was thinking this same thing. Let’s not act like Oakland is this unbelievable city to live in.... come on. But they’ve had zero trouble recruiting top 10 players.

Something I was thinking about —- Sacramento is only 80 miles from Oakland. Maybe Boogie still has a bunch of family out there and a specific doctor he wants to rehab with? Who knows, just sounds like Boogie wanted to get back in the area and get a free ring in the mean time.

They have a great coach, great GM, great owner, its in CA.

Jerry West closed the KD deal. Everything else was just academic.

I don't think many of their players are actually living in Oakland.

The overall region has always been in the top FA tier - no matter how much Lacob might self-proclaim his light years, Iggy admitted that much of his going to and staying in the Bay has nothing to do with the competence of the front office.

It speaks volumes that GS managed to be bad as long as they did, with the unearned advantages they have. At least Philly and even NY/NJ have the excuse of cold weather - and, unlike in the NFL where the coldest months are in the offseason, are something every player there has to go through.

As we've often noted with Miami, LA, etc. life in the Bay is more different between the celebrity elite and the average person in those locations, than anywhere in Ohio or elsewhere in everytown USA.

The Warriors must have something on Adam Silver. Did Joe Lacob and Steve Kerr catch him in a public park restroom in San Francisco with his pants around his ankles near a glory hole?
