This more seems like the owners ploy to try to get rid of these types of contracts entirely. The structure of Watson's contract isn't unique to him by any means, and the Browns use that type of contract structure as much or more than anyone in the league. Most of the extensions or contracts they've signed since Berry took over have been structured that way.

The Orlando RCF remote office is near Friendly's on I Drive, down the street from Hulk Hogan's beach shop and the Fairvilla Mega store, for all your night time needs.

Used to live on Westwood & I drive….

I had no idea a Friendly was there; Too Canns is a good spot.

The Walmart on turkeylake would be a hot spot for Brazilian tour buses. :)

Why would the owners care about low year one base salaries?

I could understand a lot of them being upset about fully guaranteed deals due to the escrow thing, as a fair amount of the owners are probably a lot more cash poor than we realize and may struggle to come up with 200 million in cash, but why would the year one salary matter to them?

If you were born in the early-to-mid 80's, Rax was like fucking fantasy land. I remember going to the Rax in Mansfield with the buffet on a weekly basis.

Always loved how those restaurants had "Smoking Sections," which was just several tables that had ash trays and the whole place was still filled with smoke.

I frequented the same location and loved the buffet and hazy view.

I think you're 100% right, just that it's much more difficult for the owners to use fully guaranteed deals as a negotiating ploy when it comes to the CBA/NFLPA. I'm sure there's quite a few owners that don't like how some teams have been able to manipulate contracts to create mass amounts of roll-over cap space, even though it's all legal in the CBA.

More lies from the lier Mike Florio.

I think of it more as wishful thinking from a sports writer that has 17 pair of black and gold underwear that ultimately has no effect on the real world.

This is just an incredibly slimy thing for Florio to say about a guy he may not ever have met.

It's also very likely wrong. At the least, it would be a really bad look for him to parrot Goodell only to have a court give it a toss. Certainly wouldn't help his law practice.

He's going to use some degree of his own judgement to try to recommend a punishment he's confident with survive court challenge even if that is less than what Goodell might prefer.

Florio is poisoning the well.

It feels weird seeing it be done in favor of our team.

Makes me think they have met, and Florio doesn't care for him.
