Anyone else have their joy nearly completely erased for the start of this season? Usually by the first preseason game I am frothing at the mouth. Now I'm not even sure I will go out of my way to watch it.

I haven’t forgotten Mo Carthon’s offense, dark times right there.

It really feels to me like the NFL is doing everything they can to now punish the Browns, by dragging their feet as long as possible. They want to make it impossible for the Browns to have an idea of Watson's availability until the last minute, so that they have limited time to figure out the alternative. Their way of "punishing" the Browns without any official punishments being handed out.

Nope. This was always a lost season even with Buddy Boy. I’m just looking forward to DW standing on the podium post Super Bowl with Roger in 2024. Shit it gonna be incredible

I'm with you on the lack of enjoyment.

I don't think it's the league's doing. I think it's Watson and the organization's doing.

I'm just hoping that this gets wrapped up quickly, and that once it's settled, Watson starts trying to make amends.

I understand why someone wouldn't admit what they did while trials and whatnot are ongoing--but if he remains unrepentant and shows no remorse after everything is wrapped up, I'm not sure I'll ever be able to enjoy the team with him at the helm.

And that is an absolute travesty--because we have one of the best rosters in all of football and this team with Watson is one of the favorites to win a Super Bowl.

You're such a broken record in this thread it's getting kind of hilarious.

Meh. I work a job that doesn't allow me to watch a whole lot of sports during the week. Buckeyes and Browns football on fall weekends will always kick ass to me. I'm still excited to catch this upcoming season, all this bullshit be damned.
Amen to that.

Yall need to hop off twitter and breath some real air. Don't let this stupid drama consume your life.

Saints playoff game with no call PI….oops we “missed” a call; our bad

I'm going to watch every week because what else am I going to do?

But it's certainly disappointing and takes some of the wind out of my sails from an excitement perspective to know going into a season that you're likely going to have to watch bottom 5 QB play derail what is a roster 2-53 capable of winning the Super Bowl with a great QB.

Watson's long-term presence at least gives me a light at the end of the tunnel.

I understand the point you are making here, and I don't disagree about all of DW's major issues, but you really dont think the NFL has any part in this? They dont seem to be purposefully slow playing and making it excruciatingly obvious what they are doing to you? How else can you explain this entire process taking so much longer than it should have? Harvey has had over a week now to review a 13 page document and it's still not looking particularly close to him making a decision. Does that honestly not seem at least a little suspicious to you?

Until you realize we may end up with a QB who was 1 drive of going to a Super Bowl last year and already has been to one.

We will be fine, we were a good team last year with Baker Mayfield missing a trillion throws. We still get to watch Nick Chubb chunk up teams and Myles Garrett wreak havoc.

Browns will have to circle the wagons here.

Baker was putrid last year and they were on the edge of a WC. Browns are better talent-wise than last year.

I think Jimmy is underrated. Brissett probably sucks, but he’s better than what Baker was last year.

Probably looking at a Wild Card run with Jimmy. With Brissett, honestly no idea.

Just telling it like it is.

The talent is there, but the possibility of the season going to pot is just as great imo.

Ward’s glass body scares me, JOK and Newsome = sophomore slump?

A lot of things can go right, but oh boy if the rails come off. Jimmy’s alcoholic red face is gonna turn a different shade.

Very boom or bust type season

Wow.

Man y'all are too doom and gloom. Have you guys seen some of these other teams? I watched 4 teams last night. We're better than all of them. One of them is a division rival and the other was the #1 seed in the AFC last season. We're better than both teams even with Jacoby.

Until I see a year suspension I will always have an enormous amount of excitement. Even if it's a 12 game suspension if we're 6-6 I'll be locked in hoping for a 4/5 win finish. No matter how ugly it looks or how long Deshaun was out, if we somehow make it to the playoffs and Deshaun is under center, the sky's the limit.
