I mean, you know the law, so I acknowledge being outclassed here… but… if this is about conduct detrimental and damaging the image & reputation of the NFL, I don’t see how the Texans aren’t catching more sh*t here.

Honestly, it really isn't all that much about the law. It's more about recognizing what you do and don't actually know. And as you said, it is about "conduct" that is detrimental to the league. So, you have to point to some specific conduct in which the Texans that was bad. So exactly what was their wrongful conduct? The mere fact that they were Watson's team doesn't prove they did anything wrong.

Like if Watson did this say 3 times then they found out and took the right steps, he would be fined/suspended a whole lot less. So when/what did they know?

But that's the whole point, isn't it? You're asking the question about what they knew and when they knew it, but we don't have that answer. So unless we actually have the answer, how can we say that the Texans did something specific worthy of being punished?

The issue here seems to be one of quantity of offenses. Like the NFL has videos of dudes punching women, and murdering people, and shipping wholesale quantities of drugs, and this case is apparently worse. So it has to be the quantity, although he wasn’t found criminally guilty of anything.

I get that they might have settled with women, but that legal side has nothing to do with League reputation and image, no? I also get that the team can’t be suspended, but they should certainly be getting lit up for this too, right? Right?!?

It's the same point. We can point at Watson and be absolutely clear about exactly what he did wrong. There's simply isn't that evidence with respect to the Texans, and we can't assume that it exists simply because it's trendy to assume that the suits are always the bad guys.

Tweet makes literally no sense. So it's the Texans fault that the Browns traded for and gave a huge contract to a QB who had dozens of sexual assault allegations and who the Browns knew would be suspended at least half of the season? Stop trying to bargain and just accept the organization brought this on themselves.

Is this the same source that also claimed that Sue Robinson would make a harsh punishment recommendation at least somewhat in line with what the NFL was seeking?

These “sources” are full of shit and probably don’t know a thing (like the rest of us) until the AG comes out and makes his ruling.

To address the initial tweet, it’s entirely possible to acknowledge that:

1. The Browns brought this on themselves by making the trade in the first place.
2. The NFL is a fucking clown show with Goodell as its ring leader, and doesn’t have any set standard at all when it comes to personal conduct punishments, which absolutely should be open to criticism.

The two don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

The sauce sending in his info…

The difference is this time the guy making the decision is Goddell's handpicked puppet. Maybe the guy has no source and is just using common sense but common sense is Goddell would pick someone who gives him the decision he wants.

It's just common sense at this point IMO.

If the NFL wanted a year suspension, they'd have already announced a year suspension by now. This guy Harvey almost assuredly hasn't been painstakingly considering this decision for 10 days. He's waiting because the NFL told him to wait.

The NFL pretty obviously wants whatever the maximum punishment is they can get Watson and the NFLPA to swallow without suing.

If the two sides can't come to an agreement, then the NFL will bite the bullet and suspend Watson for a full year even though they know it will mean a lawsuit.

I don't think it will get to that point though.
