Deshaun Watson Soap Opera

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, no matter how bad that initial instagram post by Tony fuckin Buzbee looked, the floodgates opened on this one pretty quickly.

Unless there's some crazy conspiracy with nine women all coming forward, Watson looks like he's fucked. Assuming it's true, he should be.

A QB without an owner willing to go to bat for him might be the perfect target for Goodell to look like he's tough on sexual predatory behavior.

Watson looks like he's fucked.

Let's be real here. Watson is one of the five best quarterbacks in the NFL. Unless there's video evidence of his wrongdoing, there is absolutely zero chance his career is over.

Michael Vick tortured countless animals for entertainment and profit. He got a slap on the wrist jail sentence and the NFL sold him as a redemption story.

If you're really good at football, NFL owners don't give a fuck what you've done. Tyreek Hill probably broke his kid's arm. No proof, no problem. Big Ben likely raped a woman in a bar bathroom. He's been the face of the Pittsburgh Steelers for ten years and counting since. Ray Lewis murdered a man, or at least was present for it. He's got a statue in Baltimore.

The NFL does not care what players do unless they aren't talented enough, in which case they are made an example of.

This will be fascinating to watch. I would have to assume this also torpedoes any potential trade - at least for now.

Does he suit up for the Texans while this is going on? Does the NFL/Texans even let him? Does he miss the season?

This has documentary potential.

There are really only two options here. He's guilty, in which case who knows what the fuck happens. Or he's innocent and knows the Texans are behind this, in which case why would he ever play for them again?

Gotta say, when the McNairs enlist their neighbor to smear their QB so he loses all trade value, they really go all out.

Accepting your options, the second is extremely unlikely. They would stand to lose their ownership of the franchise, so its difficult to imagine they would go to this level, especially as they have nothing whatsoever to gain by it, except vengeance. I don't see that as realistic. Which leaves your first scenario. This is a far more serious allegation than Vick's.

I agree it's unlikely, but given the choice of lawyer I don't think we can entirely rule it out just yet.

Look at it like this...if five women accuse Joe Biden of sexual misconduct and they're all represented by different attorneys, or by one attorney who specializes in those sorts of cases, I'd be inclined to believe them. If five women accuse him of the same and they're represented by Rudy Giuliani, that casts doubt on the whole thing.

If you read the details, her claims go beyond a request for a special massage or sex and involve physical contact. That and subsequent messages from Watson and other Texans would take this beyond verbal abuse and towards illegal activity. Its hard to understand how the Houston FO could benefit from the devaluation of their top asset, trade demands or not. Time will tell, but nothing good will come from this for Watson or the Texans.

would make more sense to me if another owner out for McNair, or perhaps a far right activist group was pulling strings here, as opposed to the Texans planting these things themselves.

Additionally, the fact Watson seems to be going to multiple masseuses in the Houston area seems odd to me. I’ve gone to the same deep tissue masseuse (no tuggy) for like 8 years. Once you find a quality sports tissue massage person you normally don’t divert to going to more in the area...not saying anything illegal happened, but to me that may suggest this goes behind rubbing out sore muscles

Do we know for a fact yet that he actually hired all the women for massages? Like, has that been investigated and established?

I’m curious of the group’s thought process here.

If you get a massage and at the end you say “how much for a little extra?” or even more direct you say some variation of “how much to get jerked off?” and the masseuse says “oh no, we don’t do that here” and that’s where it ends.

If you apologize for the misunderstanding or simply don’t press the matter further - did you commit sexual assault or sexual harassment?

At what point does an inquiry about a service/sex act become over the line and dive into “this is inappropriate and you deserve to get in a lot of trouble” territory?

Is it black and white where any suggestion at all by the person receiving the massage is totally out of line?

Personally, I think asking is probably inappropriate, but not a crime if it ends there. That's why I felt the first accusation was nothing. If all he did was ask for a handy, but was denied and then left when asked, I absolutely don't believe that's a crime. I wrote a post earlier regarding this, but it's not a crime to try to get women to have sex with you. It can become one if you keep forcing the issue once they make it clear they aren't interested.

The other two accusations, though...

Asking for a friend?

You'll have to ask Robert Craft

Yes, that's sexual harassment.

It's an unwanted sexual advance in an atmosphere where that behavior is unacceptable.
