Deshaun Watson Soap Opera

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Stop siding with billionaire owners who will do everything they can to hold onto as much power as they can.

The Cal McNair's of the world want you the fan to hate what Deshaun Watson is doing. Cal McNair wants you to think that he's the real victim here and that he did nothing wrong.
I don’t see that at all. I don’t see Watson as the enemy. I see him as a baby and not standing behind his commitment.
Yes, teams can terminate a contract at anytime if they want, but the player will get whatever guarantee the agreed to.
In this situation, the Texans will lose their Franchise QB and be out close to $50 million dollars.
Watson will get to go to a new team and collect more guaranteed money and probably get another contract.
Again, don’t hate the guy, but it’s “bad faith”

Sounds like it’s about to get worse for Watson.

Other women not being represented by a scumbag lawyer would be significant.

EDIT: All are represented by the same guy, Buzbee, with ties to the McNair family.

Now that would qualify as sexual assault.

The chosen lawyer still makes the whole thing suspicious, though.

I hope it’s not true.
Wasn’t this kind of similar to what AB did a couple years ago.

I think I speak for the whole community when I say...

We absolutely need this to be the thing you two fight about now.

I gotta admit. Solid play by Watson here. He’s done almost everything he can do .

The ties to the McNair family notwithstanding, I don’t hold the plaintiff’s choice of lawyer against her(and not saying anyone in here is). Living in NE Ohio, if you held a gun to my head and told me to name the first lawyer that came time mind I’d say Tim Misney without hesitation. And I’m pretty sure that guy is a chode, but I’d like his staff and resources against a higher profile person like Watson and the type of defense he can mount. But perhaps I’m naive in my thinking and the ties to the owner of the Texans is more than coincidental.

You'd think a proper lawyer would pass these suits along to another associate given the obvious conflict of interest, though.

You’re probably right in that regard, and it would be the ethical thing to do, but in my experience high profile lawyers like high profile cases.

Then he can be fined repeatedly, and sit and waste 5 years of his career.

He is an employee under contract.
He likely will, hence why they may as well trade him while they can get peak trade value. When I guy sits out for that long the team loses leverage.

Not when he's a top 5 QB in the entire NFL...
