Deshaun Watson: Third Highest Paid QB in the AFC North (OUT for 2023)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't root for injuries, the first guy who resigned after Brady came back, his snapper and the leader of their OL just went down. Is Tretter still waiting for a call? The "Brady back to earth season" is off to a ominous start...

Losing Jensen hurts.

If he's out for the year, you can't replace him. He's a top 5 center in the league.

With Marpet's retirement, Cappa moving on, and now Jensen's injury, that entire interior is now gone. They're incredibly lucky that the Patriots gifted Brady Shaq Mason

Watching some of the camp stuff.......just in shorts, the one thing that stands out to me is the effortlessness with which Watson can throw the ball.

Baker certainly has a strong arm.......but Watson looks more like a Gerrit Cole type pitcher out there.

Where his motion is so smooth, compact and powerful......that the ball just comes out of his hand differently.

Both Watson and Mayfield have arms, but watch the feet. Watson's feet always seem to end up naturally in the right place to power his core. Mayfield had a bad habit of dancing a jig sometimes.

Interestingly, a big concern with Deshaun coming into the league was his arm. The experts were all over that one.

That and Burrow’s tiny hands.

Baker probably has as strong an arm as just about anyone in the NFL if he can get his whole body under him and wind up. Wouldn't surprise me at all if in terms of sheer MPH, he's right at the top there. Watson is just so much smoother throwing it with speed and accuracy off of any platform, something Baker was obviously pretty deficient in. Obviously the latter is much more important in an NFL game than the former.

on this topic, if anyone saw the end of "Building the Browns," I don't think it's reading in too much to intepret Stefanski's "Watson learned a whole offense in 9 weeks/is good at compartmentalizing and focusing on the task at hand" as an intentional contrast from some other guy.

My excitement has been down until the suspension comes through, but man I got excited watching him jog onto the field in front of the fans. Can't wait until he is game ready.

Since there’s a lot of crazy/nutjob Browns fans out there, I think a moment of appreciation should be given to Browns fans for having the smallest speck of human decency and not harassing Judge Sue Robinson at her house or whatever as they wait for a decision.

Maybe don’t give them any ideas. :chuckle:

The outraged fans and ones that jumped to a new team are secretly securing those Watson jerseys for when the Browns are 8-2 and Watson is putting up MVP numbers.
