Dylan Overthinker

Dylan I hate watching this guy play kick him off the tour doug Windler

When Windler passed up a wide open shot, I thought my head was gonna explode.

Maybe this guy just doesn't get it.

I want to stream a loop of "shoot the fucking ball" in his beats, cuz he clearly can't hear me screaming at my screen! :chuckle:

JB just needs to recycle the old Kobe-ism and tell Windler he'd rather see him go 0-30 than 0-4. Worked for Spo and Duncan Robinson

0-0-0 statline in 12 minutes. Right after he wins the JYD award the night before. He's going to end up the poor man's Cedi if he has too many of these empty performances.

This is one of the GOAT polls on this post. LOL...
Soundwave superior.

Dylan Windler inferior.

he is a waste of a roster spot at this point. 25 years old, 3rd season and he does nothing, cant even shoot which is meant to be his strength. Hope they somehow trade him this off-season

He does a little bit of nothing

  • Haha
Reactions: Lee
He's a heck of a rebounder for his position. Last year he made nine 3's in a row before they had to shut him down with a leg injury. If he could develop a one-footed floater in the lane and a more consistent 3 he could be an asset off the bench.

The intangibles I think that he does every single night, he makes your team better. All the little things that coaches preach and beg for guys to do, he does them instinctually. - JBB

We have guards who play with the ball in their hands, so you need to put people around them who are good at playing without the ball, instinctively. [Windler] plays extremely well without the basketball. - JBB

Now he just needs to improve his game WITH the basketball. He's kind of like Okoro - his stat sheet is very unimpressive but the coach likes him.

One member of the front office compared him to Utah’s Joe Ingles. - Fedor

Except Ingles is 6'8" and is a 40.8% career 3-point shooter. Windler is 2" shorter and 24 pounds lighter. He runs the floor and rebounds better than Ingles but is not close to being in his league as a shooter. If Windler could hit 41% of his 3's while getting better at finishing at the rim he could play in this league. But on this team he's competing with Stevens, Cedi, LeVert, and Okoro for backup minutes next year (assuming Sexton starts) and against that group he has no chance.

I'd like to see a poll. Something like;

Dylan Windler will hit his next three point shot...
A) When Hell freezes over
B) In the G-League
C) Next September
D) Before the end of the regular season
E) Against the Sixers

Maybe @PIP would have some more creative options?

He needs to make more of his opportunities

I didn't realize this guy is shooting 0-17 from the perimeter since mid January. That is absolutely crazy.

In the draft thread there is talk about if we get our pick this year, do you go shooter vs BPA vs SF, etc etc. This is an example why you don't roll the dice w shooter in the draft, but pay for proven performance in FA (we have done this before, Wally, Ashton, etc). We've narrowly missed on a few the last several years. I expect it to be a priority this offseason.

Plus, we are absolute snakebit when trying to draft a shooter. 20+ years just guessin...
