My favorite one so far.

Have to call myself on the carpet for throwing Ice aka Quad City under the bus the day before he lit it up.

Let’s see if he can keep it going.

@RchfldCavRaised not sure I agree with you on the regular season record decreasing. There's a lot of meat left on the bone in terms of wins and losses in terms of pythagorean expectation (weighted by net rating) vs where we ended up. Last year we underperformed by about 4.5 wins, we had the net rating of a 55.5 win team. On top of net rating, we were probably a little bit unlucky in terms of opponent shooting luck. Then factor in how our best players are all early-to-mid-20s and thus pretty good bets to A) stay relatively healthy and B) improve on overall performance, plus better depth... I'm not saying it's impossible, but a decrease of 6ish wins is definitely near the low end of the bell curve.

This is fair. My sentiment on that not being the worst thing is captured by one of the national pundits recently talking about us strengthening our weaknesses as opposed to just coaching to our strengths in the regular season

I’m not of the camp who believes all we needed was more willing shooting to unlock the offensive side of the ball, Howler.

I believe it’s by defensive design that we have the slowest pace and finding a balance to the pace will cost us some wins but will benefit us greatly when the opposition is locked in on disrupting our offense

You guys are just too damn suave and good looking not to watch this video version

Gonna add to this as I listen:

- RCH One of the best concerts of my life was summer of 1997, just past HS graduation. Saw Radiohead at the Lakewood Civic Auditorium which was essentially a High Scool Auditorium that some rich alumni must have funded. They played half of the first album, all of the Bends(with Johnny doing the keys part to Street Spirit with the headstock of his guitar while simultaneously picking the guitar part), and about half of OK Computer, which had either just come out or was a month or two off from coming out. To add to the drama of it all, it was a stormy night with massive horizontal heat lightning strikes all night.

- Jig, that basement and Don Draper couch looks familiar from a few OF videos I’ve seen

Ok, be back with more once you guys get into actual basketball haha

- up until year 5, from things I read at that time. a large portion of the DEN fanbase thought Mike Malone was not equipped at all to maximize Jokic and thought he was being wasted, regardless of
stats and impact, by Malone

Just finished listening. Cant believe its season 3 already! Great work as usual guys!

I thought the discussion on the current archetype was very interesting. There is an overabundance of these coordinated tall dudes right now, from the og unicorn (KP) to the Chet/Wemby. It remains to be seen how much long this trend holds, but we have already seen Giannis and Joker win titles with this archetype. The question of course is how important is it to have the archetype guy vs just an MVP level guy? Steph nabbed one in between all of these guys because he was just that good. MJ scooped up all his titles in the era of giant post up centers. I am thinking we will have a guy on the roster that will develop to that level in due time.

Also, do think one of the important leaps for this team is to transition from an 82 game team to a 16 game one. Rch made a great point on this. The regular season is important, but we need to be able to win in the playoffs. Im not going to be calling for JBB's head just yet, but we need playoff results this season. A competitive 2nd round at least.

Merely a trick of the tail.

I totally get where you're coming from in transitioning to a playoff team, trying new things out in the reg season that may blow us a game from time to time, etc. I just think there's enough forward momentum that actually taking a significant step back in wins is unlikely.

I get what both of you are saying.

The most important part to me is that we see this guy trying multiple lineups regardless of the outcome. As a fan, I am absolutely willing to watch some early losses if it means that I get to see some experimentation.

ESPECIALLY given how much the East has improved. Those early Boston wins where LeVert was cookin didn’t mean a damn thing when the Cavs were getting their asses beat by the Knicks in the playoffs.

I loved the Radiohead talk. I went to see them at Blossom in 2008 and it's been a highlight of my life ever since. In Rainbows in also my favorite album with Reckoner being my favorite track. My introduction to them was actually In Rainbows. I had smoked weed for the first time and my buddy put the album on and turned on Weird Fishes. That's a memory that will forever be seared in my head and reshaped my idea of what music is or could be.

I also want to know how much @The Oi is paying that handsome actor to impersonate him. SAG minimum?

Great show guys, you made the drive home a lot more enjoyable. Looking forward to episode 2.

One thing I hear pretty consistently, and agree with to a degree, is that we need to tinker, experiment, and expand the rotation in the season and that by doing so it will cost us games. I agree that all of the above should happen and that it will/should cost a win here or there.

However...

What no one talks about is the successful experimentation and its impact on regular-season wins as well as playoff wins. Having more tricks up your sleeve on a random Tuesday on the back end of a back-to-back in Charlotte when your team just does not feel like playing might very well allow the team to pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat and get a win.

My supposition is similar to Rtch, but less dire. I think the tinkering will cost more games than it gains, but the improved roster and depth balance all of that out and we end up with the same record, more or less.

@Deezus about to OLGA all over this joint.

I have a team of guys.

One who does regular posting, another who writes the stories, and a body double.
Great show guys, you made the drive home a lot more enjoyable. Looking forward to episode 2.
Thanks!
