Episode 3-1: New Faces

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So happy this is back and that you will try to get these out weekly. Love the video component too.

The cadence allows the content to be up to date. Like if you want to do play breakdowns or talk about games past and upcoming, before it was tough bc it was sometimes weeks in the past. Guests coming in, clothing line is out there, music blogs, Jigo Blue Chew affiliate link coming.

I liked the buildup to the unicorn era. That walk thru time and trends. Never thought of it that way.

Re: new guys. Coincidentally my middle’s bball coach is former euro pro who works out w and trains w and is employee of agency for Strus, Niang, and Jerome. He’s intense and overqualified and I love it. But basically if these 3 ball, it’s pretty much all him.

My suave partner @RchfldCavRaised deserves some credit for his production up to this point.

We’re going to really get this thing moving and ask you all to provide the skills you already do on the board, but dude has been clutch since the beginning.

Love the video and excellent job you too @The Oi @RchfldCavRaised !

Not just basketball but I like the fact that @RchfldCavRaised has an advocate for emotional wellness. Stress and mental health is such a big issue in today's world. Just wanted to highlight that and I also want to get involved that as well.

It was best to keep LeVert on the bench and kept trusting Okoro like what we did in the regular season in that Knicks series. The Knicks coaching staff just outsmarted JBB. Agree on the take to let Luke Walton more involved offensively.

In the end, the Xs and Os at game situations may hurt us but I hope that will change this year. I want to be optimistic but this is the year for JBB to shine or we get some one to take over.

Looking forward to the series you will bring especially on video now too. Phenomenal job!

The other side of the studio tour. This is what game nights will look like for me this season.

Lets see what Orlando is going to look like this year.

Me thinks they will be a playoff team
You have some all-timers on your wall (ATCQ and Paak's MALIBU, both classics). One thing I love about RRJ is the musical references, and I'm really with your mission of "connecting people through music". That is actually the Internet rep of Dr. Claw outside this site. It's taken me to some very interesting places.

I also agree Orlando is going to be a playoff team. At least play-in. Once they figure out their logjam at guard, they're gonna be a problem. The Paolo/Franz combo already is. I think they should stick with Fultz.

Also gotta shout out Jigo and his mention of A Trick Of The Tail. Y'all don't know HOW much I played that back in my CofC days. Still do when I drive back to my NY hometown. My favorite song off that one is the title track, but also "Ripples". Used to really run Wind &Wuthering a lot too. Especially "One For The Vine". That's one for North Harmony and Ashville.

I generally try not to speak for @RchfldCavRaised, but I think I can safely guess that we can each add an “albums we’re listening to” recommendation.

Entangled is my favorite. Very Pink Floyd feel.

Squonk is a reference to a cryptid out here in (north)western PA. I love how obscure their inspirations are. That goes for any artist. It’s nearly impossible to be unique when it comes to music, so when it comes to song topics I love when artists come up with subjects that are totally off the wall.

I am huge on album art as well. Trick of the Tail is among my favorites of all time. Love the story it tells. Reminds me of my Where the Wild Things Are.

Listen let's just all admit it that @The Oi is a handsome man.

I asked this on the youtube page but I'll ask here.

Is the worry, though, that in order for Mobley to eventually become "That Guy" that we might, eventually, need to move on of the two guards?

It's just gonna be hard, very hard, for him to become an offensive hub when he's playing so many minutes with Garland AND Mitchell, yea?

So I can see a point in time, in the future, where the Cavs decide "Hey, look, Mobley is the future. For us to contend for a title he has to be the best player, and the only way that can happen is if he gets the ball more, which won't happen when sharing the court with two ball dominant small guards." Thoughts?

You know the comparison was Jokic, and how Denver dealt Nurkic once they decided Jokic was gonna be THE guy. And I think about Jokic and he just didn't have a true alpha guard on his team as he was developing dominating the ball. Once it was settled he was the guy controlling the show, Murray came along after as a sidekick.

That's not the situation Mobley is in.

Jeez guys.

I think it was the camera angle. Usually I look like this:IMG_3378.jpeg

@RchfldCavRaised and I both answered this on the youtube page.

We want to keep the conversation going here, of course, but as we work on getting some of these episodes moving on youtube and social media, the more insightful comments like @Rich ’s and shares on social media the better!
