Episode 3-6: Take THAT LeBronto Raptors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm here to eat all the crow.

I heard Buckley's Hallelujah so many times, I got sick of it. I didn't bother listening to his original stuff. Part of this is because in the 90s people supporting him around me didn't give Cohen credit for writing it, and because he looked punchable on the cover of Grace.

It's really really good. Thanks, Jig.

Hilarious, my son is 16 and starting his musician journey. He just played me some Buckley and he is a huge fan. So I wasnt into him in the 90's, to busy being drunk all the time, but he is very good.

Of my limited accomplishments on this board, the one I’m proudest of is bringing everyone together over the spirit of Jeff Buckley.

I can definitely say you raised the bar for how passionately you presented a case for everyone listening to it

I tried my best to imitate your introduction and delivery with my Mac Miller presentation on the next episode and didnt come close

I thought you were about to cry while talking Buckley :chuckle:

Mine is still the term golden penis. It should be I was the one that had the idea for S34, but nope golden penis is my pride point.

You nailed it! Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza and Love Lost did too. Great nostalgic beats. Fun. Easy to listen to. Listening the rest of the afternoon.

I was!

I will proudly admit that I have cried while listening to his music and when the Cavs won in ‘16!

There’s a good dozen or so songs that get me almost every time if I’m in the zone. He’s on the list.

HOLY SHIT!!!

You took it back to the beginning and literally picked my favorite of his old tracks. Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza is the song where I said "This white dude is DIFFERENT". He sampled Lord Finesse "Hip 2 Da Game" from early 90's and he maintained the integrity of the song and made me listen to Lord Finesse for weeks after I first heard that track.

Crazy you locked in on that one track. It perfectly encapsulated what I was talking about with Mac's respect and ode to old school hip hop

It’s those jazzy samples that the early 90’s hip hop guys were using. Looks like this one came from Oscar Peterson- Dream of You which I’m unfamiliar with.

Gives that nostalgic, kind of hazy, relaxed feel to the beats. They feel kind of lived in. Familiar, but not.

Old school rep for Oscar Peterson +1
