I know you guys are working on the next episode, but I did want to throw a "small world" moment on here.
Last Wednesday the high school juniors at the school where I work threw a karaoke fundraiser. Indulge me in the background: I teach a seminar to the junior class where they needed to write a resume. For most kids, it was their first resume and first realization that high school isn't forever. Many complained they didn't have anything to put on their resume. So, being a huge jerk, the next assignment from me was to organize fundraisers to pad their resume. So therefore I had to be there on a Wednesday night way too late, hanging out with high school kids.
Anyways, the best performance by far was a 16 year old kid who hardly ever turns in his work. He chose "What's He Building In There" off Mule Variations. I almost fell out of my chair laughing. Mule Variations is absolutely one of my favorite albums, and he picked the track that of all the Tom Waits weird non-songs, it's the furthest thing from a karaoke song possible.
It's just more evidence of the far reaching power of that album. Kid is probably going to pass my class just because of it.
