Whoever compared this man to John Henson has never seen Mobley play...or Henson.

That's up there with comparing white WRs with other white WRs for the laziest of comps. They had to have just looked at their literal bodies and said yep, same guy.
I don’t want to name names because the person is a good poster who made a bad read (we’ve all been there).

They watched a lot of film on Mobley and somehow came to a wildly different conclusion.

What's so exciting, stats aside.......is he's already a guy that the other players really feed off of.

You can see it in everyone's body language.

Like, I bet every player in that locker room was like "We got Evan back tonight, let's roll".

He just makes everything work. His ability to just morph in and out of different roles is so special.

We looked like a semi tire fire at times without him......he steps back in to the lineup and we just look like the playoff team we were before he left.

It so damn exciting he's here for a realllllllly long time. Just gotta smartly build around him.

How dare you not name names, lol. Easy to find it. You are doing it all wrong, though. You just don't acknowledge when you are wrong then it will never hurt you when you are.

Still impressed that Mobley has had such an impact right away. The Cavs have a nice balance when healthy, just missing that impact wing.

If he is not ROY I don’t know who is. Kid impacts the game in so many ways. Love watching him play
Barring injury he's a lock. Dominant, excellent stats, changed our teams trajectory, and most importantly put us in the hunt. It's his.

I'd rank the top guys as follows:
Mobley
Barnes
Giddey
Cunningham
...
...
Everyone else

Cunningham has been really bad. He probably won’t be forever, but for now, he belongs with everyone else.

Lol... @Omar The Horse just liked a post I had made in Nov 26 of 2020 from the draft thread and I have to post it now... must have done something right...

Guys, we are in a very good spot.

I've seen enough of Mobley to know we are covered in the PF/C spot. Yes, after just one game. I was pleasantly surprised by his upper body build. I had a notion that he was narrower, but his build will allow to add upper body mass. He will be able to play the 4/5 pretty easily. He does have high hips, but i'm not concerned about it.

He is a tier above any center/pf in last years draft. He is so explosive as a roller, he is bouncy as fuck, he moves well, he has great touch on his hooks, mid range, outside shot looks pretty good..he is very high iq with his passing and awareness.

I'm really happy with that.

Yeah he’s a lock unless he sustains a bad injury(*Knocks on wood*). Assuming he continues to play the same way he’s played for the first quarter of the season. He’s gonna be solid all year and he’s going to have a dozen or so monster games that really show he’s a superstar…like the 26-9 against the Knicks. Especially with the way hes shooting the 3.

I have serious action on him at +1000 for ROY frombefore the season. He’s +300 right now. I put a little bit more on him the night his injury news got reported as he moved to +500 at a couple places. But he’s back to +300-+350 most places now. Still a good bet IMO. I’m straight up buying a boat with my winnings.

If Evan isnt Roy its Scottie Barnes. He is playing insane for a rookie right now too.

Sadly Barnes would be the perfect SF for this team and compliments Evan perfectly imo.

I wont hate on Barnes just because Evan has been insanely good.

RCF is vindicated with how great Mobley and Barnes have been this year. Everywhere else, everyone was just raving about Cunningham being in a class of his own and an easy No. 1 pick. Mobley and Barnes were easily the two RCF favorites from the draft thread.

They were mine too. I was almost rooting against Barnes being this good because i wanted to overwhelmingly "Win" the draft. But we could only pick one, and Mobley is transformational on defense from day one while showing the makings of being excellent on offense in the future.

We made the right choice, but still Barnes has been great for a rookie.

Remember back when people were questioning his offensive skills?

I believe John Henson’s name was mentioned :chuckle:

Here I am!

I was always pretty clear about criticizing his shot creation abilities (eg creating his own shot).

In my defense I watched every single offensive possession available on YouTube from his college game (like 15 games? idk) including posting a literal play by play analysis over a five or so game span pointing out pretty woeful offense including a bad handle, very poor post game/touch, and predictable driving game. And streaky/slow jumper. You can go through my post history, I was begging people to provide video that showed otherwise, but what I watched was him miss about 75% of the shots he created for himself which made me believe his FG% was largely from assisted FG's (which I asked if anyone had the stats for).

I think his handle is still "not great", his post game has been streaky, and driving game has been so-so. He looked the same in summer league as he did in college (bad).

Part of it was a handful of people comparing his offense to Durant.

His defensive presence has been outstanding ofc, I don't think anyone expected him to contribute this much so soon.

Still only 15 games in, we will see where he goes from here.

Couldn’t lose with either one but right now I prefer Mobley
Right now
At draft time ? What the hell do I know

I'm glad I wasn't the GM. I would have been sorely tempted to move to 5 and grab Scottie where he would have already been gone and I would have been fired immediately.

Love Evan. He probably still has more potential than Scottie with the way he can shoot, which has been a pleasant surprise.

Right now, Evan has no weaknesses in his game that aren't youth/body related and those have been minimal.

I always preferred Mobley, not sure if you remember but i had a man crush on him and couldnt believe he didnt go #1. It was like did they watch the same film i watched?

And with all of my love for him, and he is exactly who i thought he was on offense...a young Chris Bosh level player....he is way outplaying my defensive predictions, and i was very high on him defensively...i said almost AD level defensively...from what i have seen, no almost about it.
