So Mobley has scored 20+ these last two games. I don't recall seeing specific plays designed for him to score either. They just gave him the ball [ and when he didn't have it, he demanded it] and he went to work. It looked easy to him. Especially with a lack of whistles. He has all the tools to evolve into our 25 ppg go-to bucket getter.

Almost every game he shows something new/improved. Those two reverse layups were sweet. His back to the basket game is pretty polished for how young he is; he likes the semi hook/push shot over his right shoulder and has a nice fade away too. Great touch on every shot make or miss. This dude is going to be a bucket-getter at the highest level!

He has some serious moves and handles for a damn near 7 foot power forward. He’s just now starting to bust them out in game action…kind of out of necessity.

But you can easily see this dude extrapolating into a 25+PPG scorer much fast than originally anticipated. One day he’s going to be stepping into pull up threes one play, crossover between the legs dribble into a spin move into a finger roll the next, then he’s gonna post up the tallest guy on the other team and hit either a right hook or an automatic 8 foot turnaround fadeaway…then he’s gonna give up the ball, set a pick, roll to the rim and slam home a lob…and will put a cherry on top by popping instead of rolling and hitting a catch and shoot 3 from wherever the fuck he feels like shooting it from. All the while he’s going to block a shot or two, alter 4 or 5 others. clean the defensive glass up and not even foul anyone.

Mobley is starting to give prime dunking Vince Carter vibes, just from skill + size standpoint. Must watch every game bc he rarely disappoints doing something no one else can.

Never thought of that one… Good call!

All the comps we keep seeing is Rex Chapman…

Vince Carter was six inches shorter than Mobley! Totally different vibe, totally different players.

Mobley gives me the feeling of when high school players wander over to the elementary school court and fool around on the eight foot baskets…

My post went over your head. That's okay. All are welcome here

Reminder:

Evan Mobley‘s fourth year in the league will be the equivalent to Tim Duncan‘s rookie season.

Evan Mobley’s third year in the league wil be the equivalent to Chris Webber’s rookie season.

Blake Griffin missed his first NBA season with a knee injury. He also spent two years in college. His rookie season would be Mobley’s third NBA season.

Shaq spent three years in college. His rookie season would be Mobley‘s third season.

Kareem spent 3 years in college. His rookie season would be Mobley‘s third season.

Our boy is learning how to do things that former players usually had between 30-90 more games to figure out against lesser competition.
