Reminder:

Evan Mobley‘s fourth year in the league will be the equivalent to Tim Duncan‘s rookie season.

Evan Mobley’s third year in the league wil be the equivalent to Chris Webber’s rookie season.

Blake Griffin missed his first NBA season with a knee injury. He also spent two years in college. His rookie season would be Mobley’s third NBA season.

Shaq spent three years in college. His rookie season would be Mobley‘s third season.

Kareem spent 3 years in college. His rookie season would be Mobley‘s third season.

Our boy is learning how to do things that former players usually had between 30-90 more games to figure out against lesser competition.
On the other hand, Mobley will have three years of NBA level wear and tear on his body as well when he starts "the equivalent of Tim Duncan's rookie season".

With his build, that's not trivial.

Each season counts.

Exactly just look at Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins as veterans….

Good point, and I agree. Cavs need to be planning for the future. Even if it means mins restrictions and skipping games here and there. Doubt they’ll do it though.

John Stockton (my all-time favorite non-Cav) spent 4 seasons at Gonzaga and only became a full-time starter in the NBA at age 25. You have to think that contributed to his longevity to some degree.

One of the silver linings to Mobley being out with Covid is that he got a chance to rest his hip. He probably needed the rest before it became a more serious problem, but he wouldn't have gotten it otherwise.

RIght now I just want to see him passing out of the double more like he was earlier in the season.

Guys need to cut when he has the ball too.

HE missed the opportunity when they started doubling him quickly and that was when he started missing shots and the offense fell apart.

Hope he watched tape before tonight.

Now do Lebron.

Yup! Case by case basis.

Zion hasn’t been able to hold up…

Javale McGee has been in the NBA since around 08 and has become more effective as he’s gone on with a thin frame.

Tyson Chandler and Pau Gasol had long careers...

Andrew Bynum ? Not so much.

Difficult to forecast what they can become. Yeah I’m excited about him putting on more muscle and weight but then I see Anthony Davis and I feel he’s less effective than what he used to be….

Whereas once someone like KG (and to a lesser extent Amare/Pau) filled out they became more effective…

I’m more intrigued with his basketball IQ and where that can take him..

This is the shot makes me say I have no idea what this kid's ceiling is. I watched so much tape of him pre-draft, my man crush has been well documented. He did not sure that he had this in his game in college, and here he is first half of his rookie season making it at 60%? Holy fucking shit.

It is such an unstopable shot. A fade away from a 7'1 player with long arms? It has the potential to be as unstoppable as the Hakeem Dream Shake.

I think he made about 20% of those in college. Truly amazing. Not even sure I want to say "I want him to develop a better hook shot" cause not sure he really even needs it. It would be more unblockable. But what's more unblockable than something that's unblockable?
