Agreed, comparing him Giannis isnt fair. He is a better defender than Bosh, taller and more athletic, but Bosh is the fair comparison for Mobley.
how so? I mean he has excellent mobility and ball handling for a 7 footer he runs like Giannis he finishes like Giannis and you know what? he is probably better already at shooting from deep than Giannis is right now.

what you've said are true, but his shoulders are not as broad as giannis, which means he won't be able to pack the muscles giannis has right now. which means it will limit his bully ball capability to below giannis level.

if you said a less explosive but more skilled giannis, that would be a better projection.

we will see

Giannis his rookie year didn't have that broad of shoulders. Guy was a bean pole. Smaller and more explosive, yes. I never liked that example either. A bigger Bosh is probably the best comparison.

Giannis absolutely had broad shoulders his rookie year. They weren't very muscular or defined, but they were absolutely wide. Mobley doesn't have broad shoulders, and it's the ONLY concern I have for him.

He doesnt really finish like Gianis, nowhere near the power, doesnt have his frame, just a different type of player.

Yeah, Mobley's shooting development will decide whether he ends up generational or not. He clearly is a finesse Player compared to a power player like Giannis.

I don’t think we’ll see much of his ball handling. He was good in college as a big but he’s prone to a lot of turnovers. He’s gonna get swiped all the time if he tries to but the ball on the floor in the nba. Giannis is a freak once in a generation talent. Can’t expect Mobley to be that.

I still cannot believe we got Mobley at 3. Cannot wait till the summer league to watch him play.
I have soured a bit on Mobley in the past week. I like him better than Barnes(who doesn't have broad shoulders either) or Suggs, but like Green better. I prefer power led players like LeBron or Giannis. Finesse players simply don't end up great.

I wonder why broadness of shoulders are not measured at the combine? It's almost like teams don't care as much about it as we do.
They kinda go into the wingspan, but yeah, they are definitely not measuring for "ability to pack muscle later on".

Post is littered with contradiction.

Out of those rookies, Barnes is the “power player” yet you say you don’t like him. Green is a “finesse player” but he’s your favorite.

And saying “finesse players” don’t end up as great as “power players” has no bearing. Powerful Giannis would have been eliminated by Finesse Durant and Finesse Trae if not for series changing injuries.

Barnes isn't near the power player Cade will be. I see Barnes as incomplete skill/athletic traits. Trouble with Cade is his stiffness(sorta like Barnes). Listen, I love Mobley, but that doesn't mean he is generational. He would have to become a 3 point shooter. A iffy proposition.
